I'm A Bad Consumer
Maybe I just don't "get" how advertising on the Internet works, so please correct me if my understanding is wrong. You see, I am incredibly annoyed by websites that go to great lengths to force me to look at advertisements, and the common reason I'm given explaining its necessity is that "ads support free content on the Internet". Which is fine and dandy. Let the uneducated masses continue to generate ad revenue by using Internet Explorer to browse the Internet. Me, I like my webpages uncluttered with ads I will never click on. Trying to force me to look at these ads will only rouse my ire and make me less likely to consume whatever product Asshole Website decided I absolutely had to be exposed to.
