(no subject)
So the trip to Virginia this weekend was wonderful! We left Friday night at like 1:00 AM and got into Virginia at like 7:20, we made excellent time and only got lost once the whole way there. The chorus competition (The only one we got to see) was fantastic, you guys did a great job! I'm sure the band and orchestra did very well also. So after the chorus competition we left for Busch Gardens. We got to the park at like 9:30, and pretty much rode rides and walked around until it was time for the awards ceremony at 4:00. Altoona did an excellent job as always:
Marching band: 1st place, superior, overall
Orchestra: 1st place, superior
Mixed Choir: 1st place, excellent
They also won the awards for best marching, best parade music and best auxiliary unit! Way to go guys, you were awesome :o)
It was so fucking hot down there too, it got up to 99 degrees and we all got so sunburnt. Especially Debbie, who has huge blisters all over her forehead, OUCH!!!
So after the awards ceremony, which ended at about 5:30, Debbie, Andy and I left Matt and Josh at the park and went to check in at our hotel. We all rested until about 7:30, then I went back to the park to get Matt and Josh at 8:00. Went and bought beer and went back to the hotel and had a little party. Matt and I were the most drunk, and from what I hear it was pretty funny watching us do whatever we were doing. I guess you'd have to have been there.
Went to sleep around 1-ish and we got up at 9:30 and were checked out of the hotel by 10:30. Got on the road to come back to Altoona at like 11:30, and we got back in to town at about 6:00 or a little after. Made good time coming home, and only got lost once, but was an easy fix and we got right back on track without any problem at all. By the way, Andy and Debbie thank you soooo much for driving home, I was hung over and felt like shit. So thank you both :o) By the way our car we took down was really pimpin, it was a 2004 PT Cruiser :o) It was great!
Well I think I'm off to bed, I'm really, really tired. Have a good night!!!
