I would probably give it to them when they were expecting a first child. (And if that wasn't going to happen, just as a Christmas gift one year in college)

that sounds reasonable. I wouldn't mind if they knew I had it, but they'd have to understand it was MINE to be inherited by them at tht later date.

I might also have a small version (11x14 or something) made and framed for my wall.

See, that's my attitude about the scrapbooks. They. Are. MINE! If I feel like giving them to them later in life I will, but there's no set plan or timetable to that.

My initial plan was to hold onto them for a while and gift them to grandchildren. But I have a bad habit of holding onto things and not actually using them, so I wanted the input.

I think I'd do it when they had their first child, too, unless that might not happen, then probably when they are at an age that they can appreciate it (when they go to/finish college, get married, etc.)

My only issues with it is that I don't want to cut up their sweet baby clothes to make the quilt in the first place lol!

Well, these aren't the 'special' outfits, per se. The coming home outfits, baptism outfits, special smocked things, etc are put up. These are more 'really cute everyday' outfits that won't last another generation (and all of Claire's were spit-up stained anyways). But they still have tons of sentimental value and I wanted to preserve them some way.
