Update
H's surgery went very well yesterday. The surgeon was very encouraged by what he saw, and the blockage is out of his urethra. H was a champ - only crying when he first came out of anesthesia. After two cups of apple juice, he went back to sleep and by the time we left he was talking to everyone and saying goodbye. Unbelievable.
Although it burned the first few times he peed, he's in no other pain. By last night he was running around like a maniac - like nothing had ever happened. I'm supposed to keep him relatively calm for 10 days. I'm not sure how I'm going to accomplish that . . .
Next Thursday we go for the renal scan and immediately after that we will head to the surgeon's office to discuss the findings and how to proceed from there. That in itself is a blessing, as there will be no waiting. The waiting has been the worst part of all of this.
