The Refuge seems to be thriving and it was wonderful for Merlin to be able to reconnect with Alice and Gaius. He's certainly been missed and their relief at finding him alive was heartening. Morgana's reaction, on the other hand, was just what Merlin feared. She was cold and dismissive, though why is not apparent. Mordred, though, was much more sweet and sympathetic than expected.
These Rites that Merlin had performed on him, are they possibly reversible? I wonder if Merlin's people have looked into trying to fix Emrys rather than let him languish as a slave in Camelot.
It is rather odd, though, that Mordred says when they took you away...He saw Merlin captured? Then why did he mourn Merlin when he saw him captured? Is he lying? Did he somehow manipulate Morgana into making him her consort, putting him in power with Morgana?
