Well, I was told to update, even though I updated just a few days ago. Thus, here we go.
I have a lot on my mind right now. Unfortunately, it can't really be discussed with my core friends right now, as they are all in some way involved. Which is kinda irritating, but life is like that sometimes. Or all the time. One of those.
I'm finally in the process of cleaning. I can see the difference...although it's still a mess. The worst mess I've had to deal with. And once I get things more or less picked up, I get to reorganize my books...which as we've all noticed, takes me a while. One of the few downsides of having so many books, I guess.
I'm enjoying my new position. I've stared remaking the juvenile section of the library over in my image, so to speak. Moving things, making sure that the labels are correct on the shelves (for the first time in years), making the shelves all a bit more uniform, that sort of thing. Also working up a lot more programs for people. So far I have ideas for everything from age 2 to 12th grade. It's a bit more challenging than being a clerk was. Which is a good thing.
Last week I ripped open the knee of one my work pants. Yeah, that's right. I'm a children's librarian and I managed to ruin a pair of pants and cut my knee open. Blood everywhere, that sort of thing. Don't ya just love drawers with sharp corners? Right as we were opening the doors for the public. Joy oh joy.
Well, Lord willing, I'm just a few months away from a new motorcycle. Still don't know whether to sell my Savage or keep it and chop it. The Kawasaki Vulcan 900 (not relesaed quite yet) is still the forerunner, I think. Should have plenty of power, size and comfort, range, and has a lot of the features I want (like the belt drive). It should be a good size and weight. Should be exactly what I'm wanting in a bike. And it even comes in good colors. And it's not overkill, like the Valkyrie would be. And really, it's only 160cc less than the V-Star, so no real difference for practical purposes. At least for me.
I still don't get why people buy sportbikes. For me, motorcycles are all about freedom, not speed. Oh well, there's room on the road for everyone. And the more idiots on bikes who kill themselves doing stupid things...the more room for me.
I think I may buy some more miniatures to paint. I haven't done that in a while. I also need some more books. I can hear a lot of you thinking already, "More books!? Jered needs more books like he needs another hole in his head!" Well, be that as it may, books keep me sane. Well, relatively speaking. They are the best thing for me to calm down. Besides, it's the best way for me to learn new things. And I seem to have an insatiable desire to learn. Nerd? Of course. But a book nerd with a motorcycle and enjoys playing guitar. Loudly.
I still need to make some wall hangers for my ever growing collection of medieval and fantasy weaponry. Swords, axes, a crossbow...things to make people happy - so long as they aren't trying to break in, I suppose.
And a lot of other stuff on my mind as well.
