Malacca Trip
I've been really busy lately. I had tons of assignments due approximately the same time, and I had to rush merchandise for a local convention, Animangaki 2012. It was downright tiring. Had to survive the week(s) until our Malacca trip last weekend. It was a nice breather from all the craziness at home!
I didn't take as many photos as I would like. But I really enjoyed myself!
Friday - Aug 31st
whipbogard was late so I dragged zuweit and yiesha to help me with my online quiz. Finished it (and got 80/100! Thanks guys ♥) and we headed to McD's for breakfast. After breakfast, we began our drive to Malacca ♥
We reached Malacca around 11am. We could only check in our hotel at 2pm so we decided to hang around the shopping mall, Dataran Pahlawan that's just opposite our hotel. We ate lunch at U.S. Pizza (photo: top left), and the pizza there is absolutely delicious! I was sad that I couldn't eat the meat one (I'm fasting; I'm on a seafood+vegetables diet for 2 weeks) but the seafood pizza was delicious too! :9 The garlic twist bread = out of this world!
After lunch, we walked around the mall. I changed my phone screen protector (finally!) and we went to this big pet shop, where whipbogard and zuweit were naming a bunch of hamsters after members of the Avengers. XD
We headed to our hotel around 3pm and checked in. Settled down in our rooms, and alwizhyper, who was also in Malacca, came to visit us! (photo: center - Me, yiesha, alwizhyper & zuweit. whipbogard off at her relative's place and we went back to the hotel to laze around some more. At midnight, we headed back to the mall to watch Expendables 2 again! (photo: middle left). I somehow enjoy watching the movie more there because the people there were more 'open' to their emotions XD (People were shouting and going 'Whoa!' and stuff). The movie ended around 2am, so we crashed after we headed back to the hotel.
Saturday - Sept 1st
We got up late (around 10am+) and we were being really lazy. I managed to drag myself out of bed because alwizhyper came over so early (and I had to open the door ;_; ). whipbogard had a wedding dinner to go to, so we went to have a quick brunch at the Nyonya restaurant next to our hotel.
After brunch, whipbogard left and the rest of us decided to walk to this bakery called Italy, that has very delicious pastries! There were places to sit so we bought our pastries of choice and sat down to chat. I was so, so happy to see chocolate balls (photo: top right) sold there because I can't seem to find them in KL anymore! They're possibly my favourite pastries ever ♥
Ohh! And we saw this really cute ferret (photo: bottom right) at the pet shop next to the bakery. There's a cute cat there too but I was too busy playing with it and forgot to take photos ;_;
We sat at the bakery until 3pm (we totally didn't realize the time passed by so quickly!). By chance, whipbogard went there too! So we didn't have to walk back to our hotel because she had the car 8D YAY!
For dinner, we went back to the seafood place because it was delicious and the price was reasonable. We were supposed to go Jonker Street then but we didn't in the end ;_; Apparently there was some event thing going on there so the place was extra jammed up.
Sunday - Sept 2nd
We headed to this really famous Nyonya restaurant after checking out of our hotel around 12pm. There was tons of people! But thankful there was a table for 4 (just right!). The food there was absolutely delicious :9 I bought crackers (that you can somehow, only find them for sale in Nyonya restaurants) for my parents.
After lunch, we headed to Jonker Street (YAYAYAY!)
I bought a small clay owl, and a dream catcher for myself and another for my niece. We also ate this adorable egg-shaped ice-cream (photo: middle right) that was very refreshing, especially in that crazy hot weather. (x_X) I ate a strawberry one :D
We were also conned by this old man. He made us buy RM20 worth of steamed peanuts! The bag was super huge though. XD
Ohh, and there was this dragon decoration at the starting end of Jonker Street (photo: bottom left). No idea why it was there, but it was really cool!
We left Malacca pretty late (around 4pm, I think?). Much later than what we initially planned. I was peeling steamed peanuts for the gang in the car, while we listened and sang very enthusiastically to Backstreet Boys. We reached KL around 7pm, and went to Citta Mall for dinner because most of us have not been there before. There's Wondermilk there too so we bought cupcakes before heading to Chilli's for dinner.
We finally got home around 10pm. I totally crashed after bathing ;w;
Now everything is back to the same old routine. ;__;
I miss being able to hang out with no worries already.
Ohhhh! And I forgot to mention, during the whole trip we were epically discussing about our own Avengers AU. A bunch of us are planning to get BJD versions of members of the Avengers. We have this whole AU (alternate universe) planned out, and we were musing on certain scenarios. It's soooo fun and I totally can't wait! ;w;
