Holiday recap
Not bad. I made dinner for A's mom again, she has failing eyesight and still likes to host Xmas eve for A and his brother, his brothers son, her girl friends from church. I did it last year and It was fantastic. This year was better. Turkey, potatoes, gravey, stuffing, brussel sprouts and of course my Trifle was a huge hit. Im an old fashioned cook so all of it is from scratch. I am surprized when people are impressed. Thats just how I am.
Xmas day...hummm I was alone all day. Nigel and Lauren off to AZ. A at work. Just Me and Netflix. A had to respond to a car fire at 5pm, so he didnt get home until 845. Hungry and tired. He ate the dinner I made and opened his gifts and schlepped off to bed. I did make a great Roast Beef, potatos and gravy, stuffing that sucked...with carrots.
Sunday was nice. We were alone in the apartment all day. It was like N and L are the parents and they were gone so we "Played house" all day. We finished shopping for my Secret Santa recipient at Mal and got candy supplies for mal. N and L came home just as we were leaving for Mal and we all opened our gifts. They got me the Gone With The Wind 70th anniversary DVD set and some cool sox! Got A the Zombieland Rules shirt he was dying for. Twas neat.
As we were leaving for Malediction, I dropped the bag with the Eggnog I had made...it was a gonner. Boooooooo! Mal was fun. I got stiffed on my Secret Santa AGAIN! I guess I wont participate next year. This is the second out of three that I didnt get a gift in return. Its very dissapointing. A's gift to his recipient was the coolest thing ever. I wish I could ask if they liked it. A got a cool gifty too...he likes! Thank you!
We were supposed to go to see Young Victoria yesterday. Didnt work out, meh, we actually were lazy all day. I did go to a business meeting at noon and I will be teaching sewing for Joann's in Buena Park starting next week. Its another part time thing, not much pay. Should be fun tho.
I got a cold. Booooooo!
I have nothing to wear on the off chance we actually do get to go to Vendetta. 20's theme. It makes me giggle to wonder how many 'flappers' will be around. Its funny how that style sums up the 20's for so many...but its so incorrect. Only a year and a half of the 20s were short skirts even remotley fashionable. But yeah I know not too many others are 'history fanatics" like I am. But if I get to go, Ima count and laugh at each flapper I see! I am such a bitch!
Ready for New Year. A is working of course, I whined a bit today at how he has had to work ALLL THE FUCKING HOLIDAYS THIS YEAR...he quietly reminded me that he is the only engineer on duty...he is essential. Hrummmph. Yeah I know.
09 had some good and some bad. The only real bad was poverty. Honestly. I did find the museum...my relationship with A took a turn and is very very very good. very solid. I made a great friend...My daughter and I mended our fence. My kids, A and I are happy and healthy.
10 seems promising. A new home with my beloved...I feel thats a huge thing on my horizon. Makes me very happy. We talk now about what we want in 'our home". 2 part time jobs. Hope for making PSB Creations something viable. MonkeyBone without his collar. Its all good.
