i have to give my boy billy corgan mad props for writting a very interesting and detailed autobiography. and best of all, it is flipping free to read on his website at www.billycorgan.com ... it really draws you in. i bet people who aren't really in to the pumpkins or his other stuff would enjoy reading it. plus his solo album is coming out on 6-21
in other news...
you should all come out to the Concert Winds performance at the Frauenthal on Sunday May 15th, at 4:00pm. not only has the band improved a metric-shit-ton over the last few seasons, but we will also be bringing along the Western Jazz Quartet, which consists of (among others) Tim Froncek on drums (the fanny pack man) and Trent Kynaston on saxophone (Mr. P's teacher from Western). kick ass.
the Winds brought the Quartet down to our convention concert in Quincy, IL, and we were the stand out band of the weekend. the Winds performed beyond expectations, and the Quartet put on a tremendus section of solos which pumped up the audience. Tim's drum solo, alone, was worth the admissions fee... we actually had audience members clapping along with the last chorus of the song. it was crazy.
but, since the Winds are short on money, and it costs a lot of it to get the jazz quartet to play, the band board is saying that we really need to pack in a crowd at this concert. i would rather ask people to come to a show than ask if they want to buy cookie dough 3 times a year.
