selective listening in atlanta
so tonight i went to see further seems forever, avenged sevenfold, dillinger escape plan and some other bands at the masquerade in atlanta. it was so cool. i had so much fun. we got there a little late while avenged was playing. they are cool, i like em. then 18 visions played and they were ok. and then further played and even though i love them this show kinda sucked cuz no one really got into it except for the metal kids who got a little too rowdy at the end. further did not get to finish thier show because some kid crowd surfed his way to the stage and stole the freakin microphone... idiot. it was still fun. they once again covered the bjork song, pagan poetry, it was really good.
then dilinger escape played and that just blew me away. i didn't know what to expect. i was standing by this guy and asked him about what they were like live and he said you'll see, you'll be blown away, and i was. it was pretty impressive. i don't know if i could listen to that stuff on a regular basis but they put on an amazing show. you could really feel the energy and power in the room. i love it when shows leave me somewhat flabbergasted... hehe fun word. anyway... i ended up talking to the guy, zach for a while. we talked about music and stuff and he's in a metal band and i told him some of my friends used to have a band, RAR, and asked him if he knew them, he said he didn't. then before i left i got his number so that i could call him cuz he wanted to hang out the next time i would come to atlante. he was really cool. a cute emo/metal kid. anyway... i hope we get to hang out sometime soon. i do have to pick up my roommate in atlanta on sunday so maybe i can meet up with him then. we'll see...
man... meeting new people is always gun. anyway... i loved the show tonight, it was a new experience and i kinda miss the few metal shows i went to. anyway... i'm tired. my bed is calling my name!
