Hi.
Sometimes, I wonder why I even have one of these things anymore. Afterall, I never use it, and when I do, it's just to read other people's stuff. I guess that's why I have it.
Except for now. I actually have a real update right now. :)
School is going swimmingly. And by swimmingly, I mean I'm fairly close to drowning in schoolwork. But that's okay. I've got a couple of profiles that need to get written and turned in this weekend, but other than that, I'm doing a pretty good job of keeping up with my school work. My last-ever issue of The News Record comes out tomorrow, which means I'm done with one of my internships. And that just leaves a summer internship with Cincinnati Magazine (where I've been an intern for about a month now) and about 5-10 hours a week working on coverage for the Solar Decathlon at UC.
It's beautiful. This time a year ago, I was slogging through bad leads at my old job, praying I might find someone stupid enough to choose my school to be their first college experience. Suffice to say, I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore.
Aaanyway, I'll be done with spring quarter in about a week, and that means that I'll have much more free time on my hands during the summer. And that means time for more work, and doing of the stuff. I would like to do more of both.
I found an advertisement for a position with Kaplan, mostly evenings and weekends doing some light administrative work. I'm not sure how much it pays, but it's pretty much right on UC campus, where I'll be during many a summer day anyhow, so I'm going to look into it. I'm thinking I'll try to keep my book store gig, but I'm probably only going to be able to work like two days a week, and that's pretty much what I'm doing now anyhow, so not much will change.
I just need more money.
But anyhow, it's been a good couple of months, and I'm ready to celebrate.
My birthday is coming up on Friday, June 8th. All I know is that I want to be someplace with beer, women, and smoking permitted. If that means Northern Kentucky, that's cool with me. If it means someone wants to have a random party and call it my birthday, that's cool too. I don't much care.
Speaking of birthdays, Happy Birthday to Maria! I know it's technically in about an hour, but that's okay. I think it makes me the first LJer to get to ya with the b-day wishes.
