holy intensity batman. I will probably kill myself before the hysterical pregnancy storyline concludes; watching it is infuriating, maddeningly and delicious. The lies people tell; the lies.
And the ending? Oh goodness those last five minutes made me cry a little bit inside, deep inside where only Sue Sylvester's barbs can reach me. Cry, bitch, cry!
As a recap, we get two rehearsal numbers, one of which is a live jam ala Fame, the other a straight rehearsal/windtunnel montage wierdness, and then one fantasy number, which was brilliantly danced. Plus an end-cap performance which connected the threads. Otherwise we had heavy dramatic moments, and some steady character development. Good!
Modern Family, on the other hand, continues doing amazing things. A very straight sitcom plot (the mother returns!) is turned, because of the mockumentary format, into something very fresh. The "confessional' asides are truly brilliant in creating layers of commentary on something fairly straight. That, and the dialogue is ever sharp - Cameron has a line that just brings the house down.
Oh and HD beautifulness makes all the men pretty, even Ed O'Neil.
Wednesday night is really my favorite night (til 30 Rock comes back)
