Back to where I belong.

So wow. This week has been crazy. I'm glad to finally back at school.

So New York was not bad at all in my mind. Apparently it's not the general consensus but I had lots of fun making a fool of my self. I think on 5th and 52nd, I totally slid while walking and landed like a baseball player right in the middle of the corner. I could hear the audible gasp. It was amusing. I did check out the Apple Store, the Nintendo Store, and Toys R Us. Despite my stubborn resistance to do things that are good for my health, I was coereced into dinner and it was pretty cool. We ate at Ellen's Stardust Diner and the service was amazing. They started out singing the Darkness and it just got more amazing from there. The veggie burger I got though was entirely organic, like actually made of vegetables, so pretty gross. I didn't eat all of it. But it was still a fun experience. After that, we wandered out to look for a park, with my directionally challenged head, had some really nice conversations about random stuff, and thne head out to see RENT. It was really good. I almost forgot how much I missed live shows. I made up for some stupidity on my part too, but I guess that didn't last for too long. I guess I really am a girl sometimes... When we ran from Nederlander to Grand Central, I almost lost my flip flops because they got stuck in the water puddles along one of the sidewalk detours. It was craziness that will never happen again.

I've played atleast one game of frisbee everyday this week and it's made me feel great. Last night, Matt recruited me for his intramural team and I'm totally psyched for it. I definitely want to train though. I really don't think I'm gonna join club though because it's 1-too much to take on with everything else and 2- it's totally different from pick up. We'll see though. There's plenty of time for that.

I've got a new roommate who's really chill. Yes, I got a new roommate after only 2 days of school. Life's strange sometimes. I guess things don't always work out the way you want them too. I was really looking forward to actually spending time with Ash. Our schedules are so ridiculously different now that I don't know how that's going to work. Kristina's a really nice girl even though I haven't seen her much.

Speaking of schedules...So technically speaking, I'm taking 27 credits. Now I'm actually only taking 21 credits for class. I was selected to do this new program. My official title is "Preceptor" but basically I'm kinda a mentor who just sits through class with them and gives them a nudge in the right direction when they need it. I'm helping out with 2 freshman intro classes. One of them is taught by the Dean of CETA and the other one is with the Assistant Dean. So I'm special. I sat down to talk to Alnajjar about it and he said after next week, I won't have to come to every class which is very nice cause that means I get to sleep in a little more on my Tuesday-Thursdays again.  I also agreed to work for Filburn on the CT Space Grant stuff on top of writing my proposal for the grant...Oh man no time for me. That's a good thing I guess. It leaves less time for all the painful stuff.

My classes so far are not too bad at all with the exception of my PTW class. My friends have deemed our professor "Spicy Cheese Lady" and we all agree that she writes like crap. We have these daily writing assignments for class because it's a writing intensive class and the first one was just atrocious. I couldn't even make myself get through it. So terrible. I'm looking forward to the one class I haven't had yet which is that independent study. Advanced Engineering Math looks like it's gonna be a pain in the butt just because it's all about the types of math I despise but I'll get through it somehow. Statics...can we say joke? I've already done the majority of the homework.

Apparently I have hot hands and am slightly psychic after last night. Everyone I normally hang out with went home for Labor Day weekend, so last night I played some drinking games with apple juice. 7-11-doubles has my name written all over it. It was really fun to be wild. Kevin also deemed me the mommy of the frisbee house. It makes me feel great to know that I'm needed. This semester is all about meeting people and having fun for me.

I've been such a nut so far. Just going and going and going like the energizer bunny, I'm special.
