I liked Troy much more than I thought I would. Yes, I've only just seen it. It got a lot more palatable once I'd let myself stop comparing it to the source material. And then it rapidly got fun. It probably helped that my viewing companion sold me on watching it precisely for shlocky sentimentality. Emotional junk food. With lovely... scenery.

Have you ever found yourself unexpectedly talking with emotional vehemence about something you thought you'd come to terms with? I guess it's unavoidable, since coming to terms with things is often a protracted process. Not an altogether unpleasant experience; the epiphany makes up for the surprise.

2010. A nice, round number. Here's to hoping it involves fewer jagged edges, for all of us.
