Beautifully, eloquently, succinctly put, my dear English major and seeker of the Truth. Would that I find such darkness to clarify.
Self realization--more than self reliance--is a powerful and necessary thing in our walk with God. To be able to see one's self with clarity...Mm.
Perhaps I misread you, but that is what I see in your exquisite duet of lines. The next step, of course, is to rid one's self of the self completely, according to Chambers. Well--not rid the SELF, per se, as much as rid of self-consciousness. To be replaced with Christ-consciousness. :) I fear, dear friend, that I must work on both.
Ah, would that I find such clarity in my own life...It is an allusive thing, my friend. But I will prepare myself to ask for such a pool of reflection from God. For now I can merely ask for the strength to be ready to even glimpse my true self. *shakes head* What will I find...?
Darkness. But in that darkness is more clarity than in the sunshine and smiles that pretend to satisfy.
May I be as an autumn leaf on the clear night wind, blown this way and that according to His will, and perhaps blown 'cross a glassy lake, a mirror of the heart.
*hugs* Take care, dear friend, and we shall seek the Truth (within and without) together. :)
