One eye opened first, then the other. She stared, knowing something wasn't right. She brought herself to her feet and dusted off the backside of her dress, then lifted each foot up one by one to brush off her boots and stretch her legs. She slowly brought her hand to her chin and tapped her index finger onto her cheek, "This isn't quite where I'm s'posed to be, is it?" She said to no one in peticular, staring at the large fire surrounded gate. She blinked several times, wondering if that would clear up this funny picture. But, it didn't. The girl let her head tilt towards her left shoulder and thought for a moment, letting her eyes follow the flames.
'Well I can't quite sit out here all night!' She thought to herself, letting her eyes fall to the ground where her nunchaku lay. She knelt down to pick them up and clutched them tightly in her right hand, 'Better get inside! I'm sure someone can tell me what's goin' on!'
Everything inside looked really pretty. Selphie thought her eyes might fall right out of their sockets if she opened her eyes any wider, but she couldn't help it. It was as if she were in a very nice dream. She froze for a moment and dropped her nunchaku. She grinned and pinched herself on the arm, "Ouchie! Not a dream," she bent down to pick her nunchaku up and kept on walking. Selphie had no idea what she was looking for, perhaps a familiar face, a friend, a professor, anyone. But, no one familiar seemed to appear.
She let the chain of her nunchaku drag on the ground after her, watching everything in amazement. She was sure this had to be a dream, but it seemed that she was awake. She shrugged and decided not to worry about it until she found a place to stay.
'This place has gotta have hotels, I mean, why would it not?' She asked herself, 'It'd be a total bummer to have to sleep outside or something!'
Something in a store window caught her eye as she walked by. It was like a mini computer, like the ones she had in Trabia. She walked to the window and peered at the objects. She bit her lip and felt inside her back pocket. She still had her money pouch. A small smile appeared on her face as she walked into the shop to buy one of the cute computers. She pointed to the blue one and asked the person if she could have it. After paying for it, she continued on her mission for sleeping quarters.
After a while, it seemed as if she'd never find somewhere to stay. She sighed as she leaned against a building, wondering what she was supposed to do. Then she decided, the next person she saw, she would ask.
