What's a Livejournal Cut? )
"A city inside a castle," she sounds very excited by this prospect, "Just when I think I understand things, they get turned around again." Having one city inside a castle isn't entirely unheard of, from what she learned about history with Mr. Smith, but several cities, that's entirely different. Also given the overall size of the city, and lack of obvious castle walls when she was at the gate, the castle must either be bending space or enormous. Very exciting indeed.
"Oh," so this was a communication device, a cell phone would be easier to carry. However it probably wouldn't be able to carry the same power source, and there were probably other reasons for the size. At least it wasn't as bulky as the SerfBoard. Does he mean cell phones are also Journals, since she was asking about the word's general meaning. So many things have so many names it is hard to keeep track. "Thank you for the information."
Sky paused, something he said earlier, she had let it go due to the information on the city but now... "What did you mean by 'those like it' are there more cities like this one nearby?" A very important question, to her, but she had to know everything.

"You're quite welcome," he answered with a nod. "As for your question, yes. There are other cities here. However none of them are quite the same as this one. In addition, I've heard they tend to be infested with monsters."

"Monsters are real?" Sky had heard the word monster before, but so far monster generally meant an alien that was either not very human, or not very nice. Often a mix of the two. She supposed that was a good reason to avoid these other worlds no matter how interesting they might be. She isn't Sarah Jane, or any of the others, so she's not as experienced handling 'monsters' (even if they are just unfriendly aliens).
Still, she smiled and was happy to have all sorts of information about the city, and the castle. Definitely enough to keep her busy until bedtime. And by then Sarah Jane should have found her.

Not enough to truly be a bother to most people, of course. But there was no denying that the Lumens were most definitely around, should one both know where to look and care to do to so. Of course, looking for them was often ill-advised, but it was hardly his place to keep people out of trouble.

"Even in the city?" Sky asked, a certain level of excitement clear in her face. It took a few moments for reason to set in, and the next important question to b asked on the subject, "Are they dangerous?"
To Sky the idea that all monsters are dangerous just isn't a leap she can make. Certainly, monsters are suppose to be dangerous. But if they are in the city and known about then they must not be inherently dangerous, right? So, therefore, they could be nice monsters of some kind. Safe monsters, or else they wouldn't just be left alone.
Sky opened her senses again, looking for energies nearby that might be of interest. Like that of Sarah Jane's lipstick, or of something that might lead her to more information. Sadly all she ended up feeling were more journals. Slightly disappointing. It was much quieter in her head than its ever been, which is a little lonely having gotten so accustomed to all the cell phones and game systems of home, "Are the journals the only advanced technology here?"

"I haven't attempted to see for myself. I'm afraid I'm not much of a fighter." This was, of course, a blatant lie. Zexion was perfectly capable of defending himself on the off chance that the Lumens came after him. Ian, on the other hand, had been deliberately created to give the impression having absolutely no combat abilities whatsoever. And, naturally, a complete lack of an interest in anything related to monster hunting.
"They are," he answered with a nod. "The city is somewhat less than modern."

"I'm not much of a fighter either, well I was... but apparently that was bad," Being born a weapon with the power of a supernova running through her body did mean she could defend herself. However a side-effect to this was that she was expected to explode, which she didn't really want to do. So being downgraded from "Bomb" to "Sparky" was entirely acceptable in her estimations. "I suppose I should avoid the monsters, then."
"It feels weird, its so quiet here," Sky says glancing around the city again. The silence in her head being rather jarring, like suddenly losing a sense. "But it is very pretty." Sky is a bit distractable at times, comes along with being twelve (which is an otherwise good age).

"I agree. It would likely be for the best to avoid them in that case."
The comment about the city being quiet and pretty was one that he had nothing of particular importance to add to, so he simply let it go unanswered.

Having her full birth powers would be really practical here, there are no Metalkind to set off her detonator, and she'd be able to help protect people like Ian, even if it wasn't the best answer, it was an answer. Still, not something she can change so she will just have to manage on her own.
Until then Sky will stare at the domes trying to figure out why the city was built inside of them.

"Most tend to lurk in the less populated areas, although I have heard reports of them occasionally moving into more populated areas. But if you stay where the people are you ought to remain relatively safe."
