For all that the city outside the great wall of thorns was intriguing, there was only place that Ansem had been willing to entertain as a place to stay during his time in this city. Oh, he'd done a certain amount of looking into the rest of the city, if only to put truth to any lies he might have had to offer later - and also to get a more thorough understanding of the people in the city - but in the end there had been no competition. It was fitting for darkness to remain at the heart of things, and so he'd once again returned to where he'd begun - although this time he set his portal for the opposite side of the wall of thorns. Nor did he make any attempt to hide the fact that he'd portalled into City Hall itself. If there were people here, no matter. He had nothing to apologize for, and indeed, he had no intention to do so.
Instead, he simply set about seeing what the building had to offer. It was to become his new residence, after all.
