Character(s): Hakkai and whoever wants to join in.
Content: Hakkai goes in to try and find his friends (and a place to stay), but that's easier said than done.
Setting: Haja o Que Houver.
Time: Friday afternoon.
Warnings: None.

Hakkai hoped his luck wouldn't wear off any time soon. Despite considering winding up in this foreign land a rather unlucky thing, on the other hand, he still had some money on him, and people here in this "Paixao" accepted his money. He had spent most of his day searching for his friends, but after a while, he decided that it wouldn't be wise to wander around aimlessly in such harsh weather conditions. Hakkai sighed and gave in for the day, stopping at a rather quaint-looking establishment by the name of Haja o Que Houver.

However, he even closed the door behind him when an overly cheerful young woman practically sang out a welcome as she took him by the arm and led him further inside. Hakkai tried to free his arm as gently as he could without snatching it away (but her fingers were starting to dig in, and it wasn't all that pleasant...), his voice raised so he could hear himself over others. "I beg your pardon, but I..."

"Will you be staying the night?" she cut in. He was a little surprised that she could even talk while still smiling that wide.

"Well, yes, but I..."

"Oh! Well, wait right here!!" With that, she ran off. Hakkai simply assumed she was going to find whoever was in charge, and he obediently stayed put. Well, that was easy, he thought to himself, smiling faintly. But no sooner had he decided that he was on some sort of lucky streak than two people ran across the room towards the restaurant... and, consequently, they both bumped in to him.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't..."

"Oh, don't worry about it! Here..." one said, and before Hakkai could protest, he was being dragged off to the restaurant. The music (music which he already decided was a bit too loud for his tastes) only got louder the closer he got, and when he was finally there, he wasn't surprised to see people dancing to it. He was surprised, however, when someone grabbed him and tried to get him to dance along.

"I... I'm sorry, but I really have to..." My, these people sure were friendly, weren't they? Not even five minutes after entering, he had been pulled into the restaurant and onto the makeshift dance floor. Hakkai stammered out one apology after another as he pushed through the crowd. When he finally made it back to the lobby, he let out an exhasperated sigh and seated himself in a chair.

Look on the bright side, he thought to himself, with the slightest of weary smiles. At least being in here is better than being outside...

Just then, the same young woman he'd run into when he entered passed him by, looking him over as though she'd never seen him before.

"Oh, hello! Will you be staying the night?"

... then again, maybe not.
