Celes had been used to wandering, wonder what each day would bring. She had been in Paixao for weeks now and had come no closer to discovering anything than the first one that she came. Worse, the weeks had begun to blur together and she was fairly sure that she had missed some days in-between. She didn't like that feeling. Knowing that things had been happening all around her that she should be doing something about, and not knowing what to do about it.
It was almost like living a waking dream.
Her mind wandered, often. She wondered what had become of her world, of the people that were there. She wondered how long she could keep the faces of the ones that she had left behind in her memory and started to worry that they would soon fade into the darkness. Then where would she be? What wo--was that woman drenched and wet? She was, worn and travel-weary and looking as though she had not talked to someone for days.
Something stirred in the general's heart as she walked up to this woman, unhinging the straps of her cape to provide her with warmth. "Are you alright? You look terrible..." she whispered in a voice so soft that it surprised even her.
