Lumiere watched as Beast paced from one side of the room to the other with concern. He had been this way since he had spoken with Cogsworth over the journals. Whether or not he was anxious to see the servant was unclear but the way he carried himself told Lumiere easily enough he was upset. Was it because they were all here opposed to the castle or had been something Cogsworth had said? He would not have been surprised if it had. He had briefly mentioned the spell when Lumiere had spoken to him, including some Mistress. Any mention of the spell alone hand the tendency to upset the Master, regardless how gently done, none less a girl. Had he mentioned either, surely he would have done so with the delicacy they deserved, would he not? Lumiere considered the thought for a moment before a sigh escaped him. No, that would have been expecting too much from him. That fatuous clock... Cogsworth had only just arrived and already appeared to have struck a nerve one of the Master's nerves. However, Lumiere had to give him credit. This was a new record or him.

As though the Master’s sour mood had not been enough, to make matters worse, he still had yet to find Mrs. Potts who had recently gone missing. Lumiere had yet to inform Beast of her absents but much preferred it that way with this recent turn of events. Cogsworth presumably had already set him off. To mention Mrs. Potts’ absents would be to simply add wood to an already blazing fire. He would wait. At least, he would try to. However, he grew more worried as the day went by. The teapot had yet to reply to his message as to her whereabouts and he had sent it some time ago. He hoped all was well.

“He will be here.” The candelabra assured Beast, hoping to calm him at least a little before the clocks arrival. A small smile appeared on his face as he idly gestured to the beast who strode past him. “We could not rid of him if we tried - and believe me, I have tried.”

Tempted as he was to do otherwise, Lumiere fulfilled Beast’s ‘request’ to direct Cogsworth to their abode, sure to include both their floor and apartment number. He failed to mention the convenience of the train which travelled from one side of the city to the other but only to benefit Cogsworth. The exercises would do him well.
