The goddess, still in her child-like form, had made her way out of the city with little trouble and now walked up the short path to the church. Shantotto was an unpredictable force, her power obvious to anyone with an eye for such a thing, and Urd wished she had her own comparable power as a back up. You could never be sure what side Shantotto was on any given day.
Sighing, she opened the door, one hand in the pocket of her varsity jacket. "Shantotto!" she called, glancing around the interior.

At least someone had finally come. Someone she certainly recognized, however that is not what Urd had looked like the last she'd seen her.
"Well, well, are my eyes playing tricks? Or have you, dear Urd, gotten yourself into a bit of a fix?"

"Yeah, yeah. It's a long story," she replied dryly. While she normally might have met this challenge with more grace, Urd had been in a poor mood for days now, her usual impatience compounded by a variety of stresses. "Let's just get to business."
She pulled out the cards from her jacket, fanning them as if she were playing poker. "If there are beings really trapped in here, it's time we let them out."

The blonde frowned, turning the object over in his hands, examining it on a whole new level now. Ever since finding the thing, he hadn't really considered the option that it was, you know, alive.

She gave a nod of agreement to Urd's words. "There are, and I do agree--"
Whatever the Tarutaru was next going to say would remain a mystery, as the third voice echoed through the church. Turning, she looked up at Cloud, noting the card in his hands, and more so noting his utterly ridiculous hair style.
"Trapped or perhaps transformed, I'm not yet sure exactly which, but non-the-less a monster appeared when I placed the card in the machine and threw the switch," she replied, not keen on having to explain this over and over. It wasn't a particularly difficult concept to grasp.

She didn't so much as flinch as the Master got down to her height and held the card up in her face. Tilting slightly to one side to peek around the card and meet his gaze once more, Shantotto replied his question, not intimidated in the slightest, only getting slightly tired of having to explain and elaborate.
"It is, essentially, a creature trapped within, so once I have gathered all the cards, I can begin. Into the machine they'll go, one by one, and with the push of a button, their plight will be undone."

He brought a smile that seemed skewed, as though he were trying to hide it from Shantotto. "Trapped within...and this machine," he continued, pacing along the floor around her like a vulturous predator. "You found it, and operate it, and use it. Tell me, have you ever tried reversing the process?"

"While, in theory mind you, there should be a way, I quite honestly have better things to do with my day," she replied.

"A scientific mind as well? Well, you're in good company then. Ever traveled through time and space before?" he asked. It was not his intention to call to her as a companion. He simply wanted to see how far down the rabbit hole goes.

Currently standing on a pew, she set her arms on her hips, looking at the red haired newcomer expectantly.

"Lookin' for somethin'?"

“So I read that you needed one of these things,” Wolf handed the card over to her gingerly. He looked over it, his eyebrow still arched. “So what’s this research about anyway?”
