It had been some time since Timon had last gone swimming, a year or two, at the least. In his time Paixao hadn’t offered the opportunity to him often. In fact, it had never offered it. That was why he had immediately forced Vyers to take him after seeing the announcement over the message board, or at least intended to. For once the demon appeared to agree with him and of all things wanted to go. The meerkat wasn’t quite sure why but was not about to argue. If anything Vyers probably just wanted to look at all the pretty girls in skimpy bathing suits. He rolled his eyes at the thought. He didn’t see what was so interesting about them but if the demon spent more time watching them then him he would surely receive a good talking to, audience or not. The redhead would have never invited the Dark Adonis if he didn’t need his protection. Being seen with the man in public made him look so uncool.

Upon arrival the meerkat didn’t know what to do first. The water was perfect and without so much as a single ripple in it which made it all too tempting to jump into. But then there were the comfortable poolside chairs calling out to him, inviting him to lay back, relax and sunbathe. Of course, this was nothing compared to the spread set up for his complete eating convenience. And this was real food, not one of Vyers’ poor attempts at cooking. His mouth watered at the thought. Oh, he would definitely be eating first.

He turned in the direction of the two food tables and was just about to take the first step toward it before a familiar voice came into his head. ‘You shouldn’t eat and then go swimming or you’re going to get a bellyache’. The meerkat frowned. ‘Never go swimming without a buddy’, ‘Don’t talk to strangers’. Timon groaned at his mother’s warnings. ‘And above all, be careful!’. She really had drilled it into him after all those years.

Well, so much for that idea. Maybe if he started walking toward the pool Vyers would follow. Then he wouldn’t have to ask him to be his ‘buddy’.

Vyers usually preferred the more upscale sort of party, any distraction was a welcome one. A shame he didn't have anything to dress with for the occasion. Oh well. There was plenty of food and festivities to partake in and some decent company. And the pool was far more impressive than he had imagined. Quite beautiful, really. And how long had it been since he had last gone swimming? Certainly awhile. And he was much more fond of enjoying the sun's lovely rays.

Hm? Now where was Timon going? Ah, just the pool. Well, far be it for him to stop the meerkat from having his fun. There was a lifeguard on duty and he would be relaxing nearby, would he not? He wouldn't let Timon out of his sight, of course. He had had too many disappearances happen around him to allow any chance of that happening once again.

Now he need only find a nice spot to lay...

Once the meerkat had reached the pool he turned to look back at the demon, expecting him to right behind him. However, to his surprise, he found Vyers wandering toward the lounging chairs at the side of the pool instead. He folded his arms across his chest and eyed the demon expectantly. Vyers didn’t honestly think he could go to pool party without taking a dip in the pool, did he? What was the problem this time, he was worried about his hair getting wet? After the amount of time he spent on it in the morning Timon would be more than happy to see it destroyed.

“What, you’re not coming in?” he asked. “Why not? There’s not something wrong with the water, is there? You’re not scared of it… Are you?”

Vyers turned as he was addressed, looking immediately insulted by Timon's insinuation. "Of course not! But, as you can see, I am hardly dressed for the occasion, and my poor clothes have suffered more than enough in this city," he explained. "But fear not, I intend to keep a close eye on you, even if I cannot go for a dip this time."

Timon raised a brow at Vyers, undoubtedly left unsatisfied with his response. “Dressed for the occasion?” he repeated in disbelief. “Dressed for the occasion? What do you need to dress for it for? You’re swimming, not paying a visit to the grand duchess, her holiness herself or anything. Just take your clothes off. You’ll be in the water anyway, who’s gonna see? Besides, if you go in without them they’ll be safe from harm. There, problem solved. Let’s go!”

D-did he just suggest...? No, no, surely he had heard wrong. Timon couldn't possibly have just suggested he hop into the pool like... like that! "A-Absolutely not!" he cried, horrified. "The indecency... The vulgarity! And did you not notice all these people around?! I will do no such thing!"

Jumping in the pool naked... What sort of man did Timon think he was?

He stared blankly at the Dark Adonis. The way the demon was acting, it was as though he had insulted him or something. “What, what’s the big deal? So there’s a crowd. What did you expect? It’s a party. They won’t care. I mean, I’m not wearing any clothes. You don’t see anyone making a big deal out of it, do you?” The meerkat shook his head. “No one other than you, that is. Indecency, vulgarity… I’m beginning to feel insulted. You can’t tell me you’re actually shy or something… Are you?”

"The rules for you and me are different in that regard! For you it is fine, but for me it would be obscene," Vyers attempted to explain. He paused a moment, bringing a hand to his chin as he tried to think of an easier explanation, one that Timon would understand. "Would you go out in public if someone shaved off your fur?"

Timon looked appalled by the demons question. The thought that anyone would so much as dare commit such a crime was outrageous. He took great pride in his fur, balancing his diet and grooming it daily to ensure that it kept both its healthy shine and softness. Not to mention the time he took to pluck out every grey strand of fur he could find.

“Not a chance!” the meerkat blurted out. “But that’s completely different! You can’t compare clothes to fur. Fur to hair, yes. But clothes? Not a chance! Would you go out in public if someone shaved off all your hair? You don’t even have to answer, I know you wouldn’t. THAT is more accurate.” Timon sighed and brought a paw to his face. “Of course you know what this means; now we need to find you some fur.”

"Is there a problem?"

Urd was suddenly there, arms crossed, brow raised in curious amusement. "This is a party, boys, I'd prefer there not to be any arguments." She glanced at Vyers, surprised he even showed up. She knew he and Laharl had lost someone recently. She wasn't sure just how to help either of them and opted for rare silence in place of wisdom. But now she was face to face with him and it was her responsibility to make sure Vyers had a good time, so...

"Where's your swimsuit?"

One horrible image after another! Was Timon trying to scar him for life? The idea of him being b-ba... He couldn't even bear to have it said in prose! And now he suggested he have fur? "You are missing the point again!" Vyers would have to rethink this, it seemed. If the truth was not sufficient, then perhaps there was some sort of illness he could cite.

And then the host of the party arrived. That was right. Urd was the one who had set this up, wasn't she? Vyers could only hope he didn't end up in another unfortunate situation because of this. "As I have been trying to say, I do not have one. I refuse to swim with these clothes on and those sold in the city itself are of awful taste."

Startled by the goddesses sudden appearance Timon jumped back. Well, she certainly knew how to make an entrance, didn’t she? The meerkat frowned. The idea that she had managed to sneak up on them so easily was not one he particularly liked. Who did she think she was? Actually, who was this hag? He tilted his head to the side and observed her curiously. There was definitely something familiar about her. Maybe it was her voice. He had spoken to her over the journals before, hadn’t he? Yeah, that had to be it.

Joining the demons side, the rodent rolled his eyes and casually leaned against his leg. “Yeah, what he said. I told him to just take his clothes off but he thinks everyone is going to be offended or something. I think he’s just shy and just doesn’t want to get his hair wet but what do I know. Anyway, he said, or it at least sounded like he said, he needed fur. Where he’ll find a coat his size though is beyond me - no offence, Vyers. I ain't sharing.”

"I wouldn't recommend going nude," Urd responded dryly, casting Vyers a quick head-to-toe glance. "Not that you don't have anything I haven't seen before but the rest of my guests might get a little offended." Arching an eyebrow at Timon -- it was good to see he had some attitude in him now -- she continued, "And I don't think it'd be good for the pool to have too much fur in it."

She turned back to Vyers, resting a hand on her tilted hip. "So what kind of swimsuit would you like? I think a passionate color like red would suit you."

Vyers heaved a long-suffering sigh. "That wasn't what I meant. I was attempting to give a proper analogy to try and make you understand." It wasn't his fault Timon had misinterpreted his statement. "Why in the world would I want that? I look perfectly fine as I am." Save for the lack of of proper swimming wear, but that couldn't be helped.

Or could it?

He wasn't sure whether or not to be offended or simply embarrassed by Urd's comment, so aside from a quick look, he said nothing in response to it. The following question, however, he immediately took interest in. That certainly made things a lot easier, didn't it? "Hmm... Red would be quite nice," he agreed. Would not black as well? But, as Urd had said, red was far more passionate. "Red," he decided.

Timon didn’t understand what Urd meant by that but was not about to argue with her. As long as she got Vyers up and into the pool he was happy. If getting the demon this ‘swimsuit’ thing he had complained so much about was what it took, so be it… But really, how could there be too much fur in the pool? What was that supposed to mean, hu? Was she insulting him? He pressed his lips together tightly, deciding to correct Vyers’ in regards to his far from perfect appearance after the goddess left. No use starting another argument when the first had yet to be solved, at least in this case.

“Red?” he repeated, unable to restrain himself from commenting. The meerkat made a sour face. The image of the demon dressed head to toe in the colour did not pass as an appealing one. Of course, what Timon imagined a swimsuit to look like was far from what passed as one. “Red is a little bold for him, don’t you think? I thought we didn’t want him to stick out.”

"I think the Dark Adonis here would stick out no matter what color he wore," Urd said, chuckling. She turned and patted the demon in question on the back, her smile as charming and disarming as usual. With the final pat, a burst of smoke exploded on the demon. As the smoke cleared, the demon's clothes were replaced by a snugly fitting, blood red speedo, complete with a design of black bat wings on either side of the crotch.

"Oh ho ho~! You wear it well, Vyers!" Urd laughed, boldly taking an eyeful of the mostly naked male form in front of her.
