Setting: Promenade Terrace (H9)
Time: Morning, week eight (I think?)

Neirenn opened the odd device that she had been given, inspecting the little marked buttons and screen. Strange--very strange. Her eyes traveled back to the huge silvery gates, and then up at where the sky ought to be. As far as she could see the whole thing looked as though it were encased in glass domes. And there was something odd about the trees and grass, too. They didn't look--real. In fact, she realized as she reached out to touch a leaf, they weren't. A glass tree, with leaves of green silk....

I'm sure I didn't do anything wrong. I must have seen that teleportation spell a hundred times and used it more than a dozen. How did I end up here? The strange person at the gate had called this city "Paixao." Neirenn had never heard of such a place in her life. For that matter, the people themselves looked weird. They weren't elves, but they had a very odd... well, some sort of luminescence. Neirenn couldn't sense any particular magic from them, but that was the only way she could think to describe it.

For that matter, she couldn't sense any magic from the communication device, nor had there been any on the "train" that she had taken. Which meant they both had to be machines, but certainly nothing of the like that Neirenn had ever seen. And that was further proof that this wasn't a dream. She couldn't dream things that she had no concept of. Not that she was likely to fall asleep right after breakfast anyway.

She slipped the device into her pocket and sat down on a bench, trying not to feel unnerved as she began reading the colorful pamphlets that she had taken at the gate. Welcome to Paixao, said the cover, as though she had chosen to come here. Neirenn doubted she would get any sort of in-depth information on the city from it, but it was a start.
