Content: The Dynamic Duo goes after Kefka before he can go after anyone else.
Setting: Matteus Academy
Time: Morning.

Knuckles had already fought Kefka once, and the fact that the fight had been recently made sure it was still fresh in his mind. Even if it hadn't been recent, Knuckles couldn't - wouldn't - forget what had happened. So many people had died, and the park had been all but ruined, and although the former mattered so much more than the latter, Knuckles couldn't help but notice the ridiculous hammock Sonic used had also gone up in flames. It was a good thing his buddy hadn't been asleep in it, or else he might have... no. Best not to think of that.
He mentally shook those thoughts away and raced towards the school, hoping to get there before Kefka - or perhaps even interrupt the insane man en route. He and Sonic had headed out first thing in the morning, the carnage still fresh in the echidna's mind, and Knuckles was determined to stop this before it went any further.
