Naruto was quite excited to meet the boy that his new friend spoke so fondly of. Not to mention who was the one that had saved her. Although Naruto hadn't even known Yorda that long or even spoken to her face-to-face, he was still grateful to the boy. Yorda was such a nice girl...if not rather sheltered and full of questions but that was something Naruto could deal with. Mostly thanks to Gamatatsu and perhaps Sai ( ... )

Casting his gaze towards the rooftops, Ico managed to catch Naruto going from roof to roof, and watched him approach with no small admiration. He had been eying the roofs for a good while in fact, wondering if it was possible to run across them. For all that they'd been necessary for his survival, Ico loved heights and climbing on things, and if he could find someone that could keep up with him in such endeavors, so much the better.

He grinned a little as the boy flipped and landed - such agility! - and stood up to greet him. "That is my name. And you are... Uzumaki Naruto," he confirmed, enunciating the name due to his unfamiliarity with it. He stepped back a bit, looking the boy up and down. "How did you get so good at jumping like that? Did someone teach you?"

Naruto too took a moment to take in the boy's appearance. His clothes were odd, just like his name - although Naruto got by, mostly by thinking of Ino's name - but he wasn't one to judge from that. He'd seen weirder things and clothing. What was most surprising was that he seemed so young. He looked as if he was about the same age as Konohamaru!

"Just call me Naruto," he nodded cheerfully. "And I'm a ninja! That's why I'm so good at jumping, no one really taught me. It's just what a ninja does."

To Ico's eye, Naruto's clothes were odd, as well - there was nothing like his jumpsuit or headband in his own village, and the mixture of orange and blue colors was also a strange thing for his eyes to behold. He noted that the boy seemed older than him, which was all right. In a village where most shunned his presence, age had never been a barrier for friendship; he took whatever he got.

"Ah," Ico replied, listening to the young ninja speak. "A ninja is good at jumping and climbing? What else do they do?" For a boy whose physical attributes were his source of pride, it was more than a little tempting to inquire further. Assuming his questions about the ways of ninja were answered, his next question would be presented with a very small, shy grin. "Well, perhaps you'd like to try racing? Over the rooftops?"

"Well, we take on missions and we do a lot of fighting so being good at jumping and climbing is a must," Naruto explained, obviously sounding very proud of what he did. He would have no idea what else to be if not a ninja. Especially not considering his goal of becoming the Hokage. You had to be a ninja for that and a very good one at that too.

Ico's next question caught him by surprise but that surprise was quickly turned into a bright, confident grin. A challenge was something Naruto was always ready to accept. "Sure, if you think you can keep up."
