Elliot was quite used to end up in strange and wondrous places. In fact it happened every night just by closing his eyes and going off to sleep, so when he found himself standing in front of a large gate made of silvery ice leading into a great, big city he didn't think too much of it. Instead his first action was to look up to the sky, searching for any signs of the friend who had disappeared so mysteriously after Wizeman's defeat.
The young boy sighed deeply and frowned as his search was once again fruitless. For several weeks now Elliot had been hoping to run into NiGHTS again, but so far there had been no sign of the purple-clad maren. Coupled with how Claris hadn't seen him either he couldn't help but worry a bit about his friend.
Still, he was certain NiGHTS was out there somewhere. He just needed to find him first.
He looked over to the gates again and saw for the first time a line leading up to a small booth with what looked like a guard inside it. Now that was interesting, normally he never saw any humans in his dreams. He joined the line hoping for the guard to have seen his friend. It didn't take too long before it was his turn. "Excuse me, have you see--"
"Welcome to Paixao! May I have your name?"
Elliot blinked at the man. Well, maybe this was just normal procedure. "I'm Elliot Edwards, sir."
The guard wrote something on a list and gave him some brochures and a small, dark blue journal. "Here is your journal and some information about the city. Have a nice day."
"Hey, wait a sec! I wasn't done yet!"
The guard had already turned to the next person in line.
"It won't take long, I just wanted to ask you a question."
Was it just him, or was he being ignored?
"...hello?"
Silence.
With a sigh and an irritated "Fine," Elliot stalked into the city. Some help that had been, he might've as well had asked a pian about the meaning of life. He shook his head and glanced at the journal in his hand. At least he had gotten a cool gift - it wasn't everyday you were handed a free minicomputer. He flipped up the screen, attempting to see how exactly it worked.
Several minutes later he closed the journal with a wide grin. Sure, it seems like he was in a completely different world rather than a dream, and he had gotten more questions than he started with... but he had found NiGHTS again! Now all he had to do was to wait for him and avoid Reala. With the occasional careful look towards the ceiling and a slightly off-tune whistling, Elliot started to explore the dome closest to the Niflheim gates.
