Gabranth wasn't horribly surprised to find that in the aftermath of his less then comfortable discussion with the skypirates his feet had brought him back to one of the gates. What was surprising was the fact that they'd returned him to the very same gate that he'd entered through. The same gate he'd first found Rasler at.

Not that he expected to find the same sort of luck again, much as he'd like to see another he recognized. Life never had worked in his favor though. But why should it, honorless hound that he was? Luck was for those who hadn't seen their home destroyed and sided with destroyer.

But he wouldn't run. Not like his brother had. Even if it meant staying in a city that he'd much rather have left.
