Character(s): Kairi, Naminé, and Gojyo (This was originally a two person thread, hence the replies to each other's comments at the beginning. It is now a group post.)
Content: Arriving at Haja o Que Houver, paying the rent, strange circumstances, and two drawings.
Setting: Haja o Que Houver
Time: Saturday, early evening
Warnings: None at the moment. (So no, they do not pay the rent THAT way.)
As it turns out, they wouldn't be dying that night. How fortunate. They had found themselves at a nice, if a little run-down hotel. It also had a restaurant, which could mean only one thing. FOOD. Ahh, but how to pay? Naminé had pondered this question as they stood on the threshold to the hotel. Paying was, of course, the biggest issue here. And Naminé hadn't a clue as to how to do so. She stood debating what do outside the door, when suddenly she felt her arm being grabbed. It was not Kairi's hand that grabbed her.
Naminé was pulled into the large room in the front of the hotel. She could hear loud music, which she had not heard from the entrance. Or maybe she had, but she had been too busy thinking to notice. But now was not a time for thinking, as she was swept up into a dance.
Spinning, spinning, spinning.
And spinning. Her insides were spinning.
She was going to hurl.
When suddenly it stopped. She dizzily fell against a nearby wall. Oy. Her sketchbook fell to the floor, the pages fanning out. She looked up. The world was zig-zaging up and down, back and forth. And then there was a shape. She could see red. Kairi?
Her eyes readjusted. No, not Kairi. It was a woman holding a red cloth looking down at her. She looked concerned. At least, Naminé thought she looked concerned. But then, she had been noticing the same thing about many of the people in this city...
"Are you alright?" the person asked. Where had Naminé heard that before? She organized her sketchbook and stood up, resting her back against the wall to brace her.
"yes~Yes!" she squeaked, her fear coming out in the pitch of her voice.
"Come on dear," the woman said, unsmiling. How odd. She had no choice but to follow the woman. It was either that or stay in the crazy room. Hard decision, really.
The lady brought her to a quieter back room and motioned for her to sit down in one of the chairs. Naminé sat down gratefully. The woman handed her a glass. Water. Naminé took a small sip, before setting it back down. The nauseous feeling was beginning to subside. She heard footsteps behind her and turned a little too quickly. Ugh, and just as it was going away... It was a blonde haired man, and he did not look happy. But then again, neither did anyone else. The man's mouth was moving now. Oh, he was speaking. She must be utterly deaf.
"Sorry, it's a little rough out there," he said, turning his head to the side slightly, as if examining her. And he was certainly right about the hotel. Though, she thought it was more than a LITTLE rough. "Are you looking for a room?" Naminé blushed beat red. She was looking for a room, of course, but with no way to pay...
The man turned towards the woman, as if they knew very well what Naminé was thinking. The woman nodded towards Naminé. "You draw?"
Naminé nodded, "A little, yes." The woman stood up and extended her hand. Naminé stared at it for a second before realizing that the woman wanted to view her drawings. She gave her sketchbook to the woman. The woman turned the pages delicately with her fingers, gazing at each page intently. She handed the sketchbook back to Naminé.
"Those are very nice," she said, and the corners of her mouth twitched up slightly, "Would you mind... drawing a portrait of us?"
The man closed his eyes, but nodded. "Yes, you can pay for your night's stay with that." Naminé smiled shyly.
"Umm, and could my friend stay too? She's..." That's when Naminé realized she had no idea where Kairi was.
Two drawings done by Naminé later that evening, to pay for their bill.
