Rikku blinked once, twice, three times, but the vision of those insanely huge gates in front of her just did not fade. She got up from the ground, dusting herself off and checking her inventory... and breathed a sigh of relief; she still had everything with her- except her friends, that is. Looking around, she spied a queue of people at the booth.
They were the only people around, as far as she could see, so she curiously made her way over to it, joining the line of odd-looking people.
As soon as she'd reached the head of the queue, a man seated there asked gruffly, "Your name?"
"Rikku! What is this pl-" before she'd finished her sentence, a small, pink, square-ish box was pushed into her hands and she was in turn shoved very quickly-and rudely- through the entrance.
"Hey, that's not very nice!"
She'd have shouted at them even more if she didn't notice how oblivious they were to her presence the moment she'd gone through the gate. Shrugging her shoulders and sighing, she turned her attention to the little box, flipping it open to reveal a small screen and a little keyboard.
Much to her delight, a little tapping here and there on the tiny keys caused the device to switch on. Rikku made her way excitedly over to a nearby bench, determined to work everything out on this little piece of machina. She was an Al Bhed, after all.
She'd get her bearings on the city later; for now, she had a new toy to play with.

Ten minutes later, Rikku was through tinkering with all the little buttons and menus on the device. It was apparently a journal of some sort, and very conveniently hooked up to a city-wide system whereby she could communicate with anyone who happened to be online at the moment. Noticing a veeeery familiar-looking word in one of the online users' names, "blitzing by? Isn't blitzing... ... ?" she selected it and sent a message...

Turns out it was Tidus, and Yuna was around somewhere too. Apparently he was at the Actua Are hotel right smack in the middle of the city and a quick lookup of the map showed it to be a pretty long walk from where she was. Still, she couldn't complain; her friends were here after all. Getting up from the bench and stretching, Rikku started on her little trek into the center of the city.
Hopefully she wouldn't get lost...
