Step right up! )
The other problem was deciding on a prize. Mina loved stuffed animals, he knew, and there was no short supply of them here. Everything from cuddly little kitten plushies to gigantic panda bears was in evidence. With a mildly wry smile, he turned to Mina. "Which one do you want?" he asked, indicating the wall of prizes.

Taking up the mallet - it was lighter than it looked - he surveyed the pillar again. "I'll try not to break anything - especially my own neck," he said, grinning for the sake of the man working the booth. Taking a step back, he set himself, took a lunging step forward, and whipped the hammer through a short flourish before slamming its head onto the little platform. The little weight rose up, up, and up still farther, finally reaching the 3/4 mark, well beyond what would have been required for the black cat plushie Mina had picked out. With a smile and a second flourish, he returned the hammer to its stand and offered his arm once again to Mina.

"Where to next?" she asked. Maybe a game of wits or luck where she could win something for Soma? It didn't seem fair that he'd gotten her a toy and she didn't have anything to offer him... yet. Mina hadn't forgotten the need to get another talisman, but it didn't seem to be an immediate issue.

The swish and swirl of the festival-goers was just a tad too automatic, and cliche; Mina's comparison of the crowd to a clockwork construct was apt. But they weren't here to solve anything; they were here to have fun, and there was far too much to be done to people watch. There were prizes to be won, after all!
A barker caught his attention, and as Soma watched, the game he seemed to be advocating seemed nice and easy enough. Nudging Mina lightly, he pointed and grinned. Maybe this was the right one?

"Come on, let's take a ride first!" Most of the buildings in Paixao were no more than one or two stories tall, so she knew they'd be able to see quite a lot of the city from the top of the wheel. Maybe they'd see something interesting they could visit later.

"I just hope your new friend isn't scared of heights," he said with a smile. Of course, with it being a plushy and all, there was little doubt that it would be a problem - unless Soma changed the rules...

Or at least trying to. The door closed in front of him - apparently, the guy operating the ride had misinterpreted Soma's 'go'.
Had Soma been anyone else, this might have been a problem. However, one does not make his way through a very close replica of Hell, twice, without picking up a few tricks. Squaring himself, he waited till Mina's car reached the apex of its travel - and then -leapt- straight up, spreading his arms at the apex of his leap and floating down into the car like a feather.

"Oh, dear. You've upset the operator." She waved at the confused and startled man below, then took a good look out over the festival and a few of the shorter buildings. "Wow! It really is like a magical kingdom or something... only without the zombies and evil stuff."
Or maybe there were zombies and evil stuff. But if there were, she hoped that niether she nor Soma would ever meet them. They'd both had more than enough evil stuff in their lifetimes.

The average people in this city could certainly qualify as a type of zombie, but Soma wasn't about to complain. The worst they had done so far was give him dirty looks. The only real evil in the city that he had heard of had yet to rear its ugly head around him; which was probably a good thing, or else he'd likely be off on another damn fool quest.
"It really is wonderful," he said, enjoying the view. "Much better than that other place," he added, with a wry grin.
