This past while had been draining for Ash.

While certainly he had taken care of the child while she was sick before, the circumstances were much different this time. Namely that they were far away from Phantom Isle, or even Ivoire it seemed. This had some benefits, but for the most part, it was a hindrance. Ash would much rather have been home, where he had resources at hand to better take care of Marona.

Not that Actua Are hadn’t proved to be a good place to stay, however, certain things were quite difficult to achieve. Especially because he was a phantom. Then again, that fact ended up being the source of most of his issues throughout the years.

Still, without a stove or proper place to cook, Ash had to venture out numerous times in order to obtain food. While Marona could have confined him, he had refused to put such strain on her. He managed to get by through various tactics, but it had been an exhausting experience all the while. However, by no means was he going to let Marona starve. Even if it meant resorting to unusual tactics.

For most of the items, though, he was fortunate enough to have the concern of one or two of the workers in the hotel. For they had realized how sick Marona had been and had been generous enough to check up on her and supply him (indirectly) with various items in the process. Although their assistance had grown scarcer within the past few days, he was thankful for the help that they had provided.

This didn’t mean he hadn’t been watching over Marona himself. Ash had almost constantly watched over the young girl, checking her fever, changing the damp towel on her forehead, and anything else he could do to ease her symptoms. Although he would not admit to it in front of Marona, this had it’s consequences and he often had felt exhausted from the hours he spent awake. Not to mention stressed.

When Marona had awoken in the morning, Ash had been up for several hours beforehand. (Something that was routine, but even more-so when Marona was ill.) He watched and waited for her to finish drinking before he spoke.

“Good morning, Marona.” He smiled softly, taking the glass from the table in order to refill it with water. “Do you feel any better?”

"Ash..." she responded softly, looking up at her guardian and best friend. A smile formed on her face at him as she responded his question, "I feel a lot better today!" She really did seem to be feeling better. It was rather a relief. She easily could accredit it to Ash's care. If he hadn't been here... she didn't know what she would have done.

"Maybe I'm finally getting better!" she added, hopefully. Getting sick like this had quickly put a halt on their plans to meet with her friends. A lot of the past days had been a blur. She could remember the hail... and drawing a little on the journal, before she'd started to feel too bad to do much of anything. There were vague recollections of faces she didn't know. However, they were blue eye'd and blond, so she had a feeling they must have been hotel staff. Yes, that's right... they had come to check on her.

She needed to make sure to thank them profusely when she next saw any of them for that. It must have helped Ash. She wasn't half sure how he'd managed so well on his own, as she hadn't been in any shape to confine him. He must have used a fair bit of his own energy to be able to do things...

Marona gave him a slightly worried glance, "How are you, Ash?"
