Gaston blinked as Jack twisted his head around to face backwards, feeling a little pleased that his own head was still attached normally. It might have been helpful to be able to look behind himself like that, but it was still a little bizarre. Also, it probably would have required him to look something like Jack. Friendly as his skeletal companion was, Gaston preferred his own good looks to remain as they were. After all, he'd spent a lot of time building those muscles to their present size.

He joined Jack in line, noting how a few of the other people were edging away to give the two of them a little more space. He assumed they were either impressed by his own physical stature, or possibly a little scared of Jack. The former possibility pleased him, but the latter was okay too, since ~he~ hadn't been put off for more than a moment by Jack's appearance and thus was proving himself to have more courage than those who shied away.

"Well, I'm certainly interested in finding out what sort of place this particular part of the afterlife is," the hunter admitted. "It's not quite what I had expected, but the gate is rather impressive, at least. I could imagine worse places to end up... Not that I'd ~expect~ to end up somewhere worse, of course."
