No, they're not. When my lionesses hunt, they kill their prey quickly and cleanly. Prolonged suffering is avoided at all costs. Furthermore, they do not kill more than the herd can spare.

I guess if you're hunting for food, but most of the time, when people are out to kill something, it's because they want it dead. Care and compassion... kinda doesn't go well with it.
