The fog... I wonder what the cause is. Where's it coming from? There's nothing natural at all about it.

At least not where I'm from.

They don't have fog where you come from?

[Ah, he remembers you.] There's fog at my--our home world, but definitely not any kind that drives people crazy.

[It'd be evident in his voice that he smiles.] And you're from, uh, Osaka, Japan right?

How are you? ...I don't think we know each other's names yet. I'm Jake.

I'm Osaka! Well, my name's Ayumu Kasuga, but everybody calls me Osaka.

Osaka would be easier for me to remember.

[It'd be easier to pronounce too.]

Yeah, that's what everybody else says too. Yukari-sensei even called me that on my transcript, I think.

Your school teacher? [To what little he knows about Japan, he knew that the term sensei meant teacher basically for all teachers, not just the martial arts kind.]

Yep! She was my homeroom teacher, but then I graduated.

So, what was next before you were, uh, brought here?

I mean, you didn't come here willingly either right?

Sorry to hear you were dragged here while in the middle of a good time.

In America, I was about to go ride a bus to my school.

Whoa, you take a bus?

jakethetigerboy December 3 2010, 00:34:07 UTC
Yeah. They're public school buses that are yellow. The seats aren't as comfortable like city buses, but at least you don't have to pay the driver any money.

Wow... a yellow bus! Man, imagine riding one of those every day! Everybody would be like, "Hey, those kids are goin' to school!"

[Jake lightly laughs, as there a ring of amusement is there in his voice.]

Yeah. That happens around some grown ups, but they're so used to seeing them they say it with a little less enthusiasm. Unless they happen to be excited parents.

How did you get to school?
