fun times

well. we had a show tonight. at a bar. it was an open jam night. there were two other bands. a house band, which played shitty rock and covered bands like audioslave et al. and then there was a band that covered like blues songs from the 70's and some hendrix. and then there's us... mathy/spacey rock action. i think after the people that were there were numbed to death by the first two shitty bands, and 5 or more beers later, they weren't really digging us all that much. but we got some good applause after each song anyway. i liked playing there, the sound quality was good. i love when shit sounds good. so yeah, we were about to play our last song (we only played 4) and the sound dude was like about to tell us we were done and i said we had one more song and that's it, and he's like "is it another long one like 10 minutes?" and i'm like "yeah there abouts" and he's like "i don't want to be rude but is there something shorter you can play? you cuys are crankin' loud and i can't control you guys back there, and people are leaving" so we played a shorter song, which pissed off our drummer cause he loves that last song we usually play, as do we all. in hindsight, we should've played it anyway beacause we're never gonna play there again most likely, so it probably didn't matter what we did anyway. oh well. i did pretty well tonight. so that was good. i messed once which COULD've been disasterous, but i recognized i was fucking up and we recovered and no one really knew or care, so it was good. also, thank you tami and laura for coming to the show with us, it was very rad of you. and also thank you jess, it was also really awesome you could finally get to see us with me in the band. i'm glad you liked it.
