On Birthdays: halfs and zodiac

Sep 25, 2007 21:25

A few days ago was my "half" birthday... but that's not what I want to write about...

I'm starting to believe more in Astrology, as a way of understanding people's personalities. My mom has some astrology books that used to be my grandmother's. I've been diving into them, and discovering how to recognize people by their sun sign. Upon reading, I'm finding the descriptions of the signs to be (nearly) dead ringers for the personalities of the people closest to me.

BUT, upon learning about astrological sun signs, I'm struggling to place myself. My birthday is probably the most peculiar date of ANY date to be born in the Zodiac. I was born on March 21st (Spring equinox), which is the exact day between the first and last day of the Zodiac Cycle... This means Aries represents rebirth, and Pisces represents death. I didn't realize how strange my birthday was, until I read about how drastically different the Aries and Pisces signs are... Aries is a cardinal fire sign which (metaphorically) would be put out by the mutable water sign, Pisces. And vice versa, because the heat of fire causes the calm water to boil.

What does this mean? -- Apparently, it means my personality is lodged somewhere between both of these opposite signs. My mom (and other people knowledgeable in the subject of astrology) have often placed more Pisces characteristics on me though. I need to find out more about where the moon was when I was born. I'm thinking about having someone build me a moon chart, so I can better learn about my personality... Also, I want to talk about this to James and Natasha, as they share my birthday.
