Sunday,
kragen and I went out to Bolinas, to see my dad and hang out. I also did my Mum's bills and such. As the BMW is in the shop, we took the number 10 bus out there and Dad picked us up in Marin City. We had a beautiful drive over Mt. Tam with no traffic in front in front of us - amazing.
When we got home, Dad asked me what I wanted to do. I replied, "Go for a walk on Duxbury Reef". So we did. First we walked south and to our surprise found that the tide was not as low as it looked when we were driving around the lagoon. We couldn't walk out to the reef - it was under water. So, we went as far as we could, then we turned around and walked north until we got to a break in the beach. There's a small stream that runs down from a small canyon and Eucalyptus trees grace the canyon in all sorts of disarray.

On the way out to the stream, we came across a dead computer. We did some examination and found out that there was a M$ motherboard, and so we surmised that it's a dead XBox. Dad had a new toy, an MP3 recorder, and so he conducted an impromptu and very funny interview with our resident computer scientist,
kragen. I put it up on the archive for posterity. Click
here to download and
here to look at all the different versions.
I took all sorts of interesting tide pool photos (
tons of green sea anemones with
anemone in mind), which I put up on
flickr as soon as I can, but right now, the laundry needs folding..... I have taken out the kitty litter, am mopping the floors & have taken out the garbage & recycling.
kragen is washing the dishes and together we're doing the laundry and will fold the laundry when we're both done with our tasks. Yay team house cleaning!
Update the xbox stream got covered by
Gizmodo That's funny! I sent them an email, let's see if they update their post and they updated the post!
Update This post seems to be
making it's way around the net, and the
photos are doing the rounds as well. One of the photos has been seen 1790 times - I'm so glad I didn't put these up on our little home server. But then again, I think the whole reason this was picked up was because the photos were put on flickr. This is really interesting to find what people think is worthwhile/funny. ;-) Jon over at p2p.net put it up on
his site... and a marketing guy at M$ says that it's a
good idea to keep xbox's away from sand and water....
