www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/books/2009/04/eve-kosofsky-sedgwick.html I cannot believe Eve Sedgwick died. Not knowing that she had and wrote about breast cancer makes me feel so under-informed. She was my favourite theorist and a personal hero (that I kinda secretly always hoped to meet someday). Between Men and Epistemology of the Closet are really important works, to the feilds of lit crit, cultural studies and queer theory and to my formation as a thinking adult.
www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi I hadn't thought about her very much, but had always wanted to see Behind the Green Door, and I really enjoyed her commentary in a documentary on pornography.
Both passed on Sunday. I want to commemorate their lives somehow, but I am small and far away.
