one out of every three weekends...

...will be "normal" for us... meaning that Wade doesn't work. This is one of them and it's been so nice. I think having him gone six nights in a row has made me appreciate having him home that much more. Next week it will be the regular 7 nights that he works.

Yesterday we picked up the boys from school, got an early dinner of pizza, and then headed to the mall. The oldest and the youngest got their hair cut. The middle one with the gorgeous locks refused. His hair is now longer than mine. We are hoping to get some of the length cut off before my sister's wedding so there is still about a month to go. Then I got myself a Mother's Day present at Victoria's Secret (that place is like pure torture for 3 boys but at least the salespeople working there Friday night had a sense of humor). We got some summer clothes for Tristan whom we just found out has grown 2.5 inches in the last year. Then we went to Dick's to look at stuff for Wade. He didn't find anything he wanted there so we went to Best Buy, where Jordan got sucked into game after game of Mario Cart on the Wii. Wade found some gadgety thing for his Sirius radio. We headed to get some groceries after that and were home by 7:00. I worked out and we caught up on the week's TV we'd recorded, then went to bed relatively early.

Our children do not understand the concept of sleeping in. I am sure Kadan was up by 7 and he climbed straight into bed with us. But it was only a matter of time before he started whining that he wanted ilk and a "op art" (pop tart). Wade and I took turns dozing though between getting up to get things for the baby from then until about 9:00 - scandalously late for us! That was when my mother finally decided to call me. I was a little irritated because I was the last one to call her a week ago and also because I had written this blog on myspace (which she reads) about how our van situation was a mess and we were pulling Kadan out of daycare. She was, as usual, super supportive of our decision. Ever since she was initially extremely negative about our move out here, she has been supportive almost to a fault of everything we do. Sometimes I am not sure how much I believe her :P But since her opinion doesn't matter that much, I guess I will just appreciate it.

Today we restored order and a shiny surface to most everything in our house. I put away more winter clothes and scoured the tile in the shower. The rest of the stuff was routine cleaning but the house looks so nice when it is in this condition. Too bad with three sons it doesn't last longer than a nanosecond :P

Tonight we are going out to a club in Ocean City with our new friends Don and Denise. There was some question in my mind about what I should wear so I emailed two choices of dresses to Don, Denise and Wade and it was unanimous that I wear the green dress. I think the stunning amount of cleavage it boasts was the deciding factor :P I'm looking forward to getting all dressed up. The last time I wore this dress in public (actually the only time) was to our friend Paul's wedding last May. I am about 15 pounds lighter and the dress fits me even better. It is one of those dresses that I like well enough that I would get it taken in if I lost more weight. It is actually kind of big right now but I'll deal. I just made Denise promise to be extra vigilant when we're dancing that my boobs stay in it. Maybe I'll be blogging tomorrow with an interesting story ;)

Tomorrow I share Mother's Day with Wade as he celebrates his 37th birthday. For some reason, it defies logic, but I'm pretty sure this is the third time his birthday has been on Mother's Day since I've been a mom. Is that even possible???
