In Chile everyone who lands over a 5 in a class is exempt from the final exam--but you still have to show up at the hour of the final exam (in business attire) to be told that you don't have to take it.
So today I showed up as required for my Pre-Colombian Chile and the Conquest class to "officially" receive my grade. As I sit down the professor calls me "mi niñita hermosa" (my beautiful little girl) and reads me my grade (a 5.5). Then the TA adds "you are very smart and pretty that's not common" and says in English, "BEAUTIFUL WOMAN!" As if I didn't get what was being said, the professor says, "You ARE very pretty. You hear what my TA is telling you?" They ask me how I like the class and Chile while inserting a few more "how pretty and nice and smart" comments, and then I go.
I'm really not sure what to follow that with...I've got quite the bird in my pretty little head. ;)
