"Dualities"; PG and... possible prompts?

Feb 07, 2009 12:06

This post actually has two points, the first of which is something I've written:

Title: "Dualities"
Rating: PG
Word Count: 665
Characters: Peter/Claire (canon
Summary: It’s easier to pretend that everything is normal than to face the reality that it’s not. A series of drabbles centered around the dualities of chakras.
Spoilers: AU after 2.3, Kindred.
Disclaimer: I don't own Heroes, sorry to disappoint you.
Author’s Notes: Kind of long, but you can see behind the cut or on my actual page. :)

The second is this:

So... funny story. Thursday night/Friday morning I was sitting at my desk thinking about what I could write for an outline for my Philosophy assignment with the ideas of showing the dualities of chakras when I found an old Avatar writing community called 7_chakras. I started reading the prompts to see if they gave me ideas... and the more and more I read them the more and more they reminded me of Paire. Needless to say, somehow I ended up writing fourteen two-sentence drabbles revolving around Peter and Claire without ever outwardly stating their names. At least I turned my outline in on time. >_> I wonder what my professor's going to think... heh. I'll probably have to re-do the idea for my actual assignment, but oh well.

Anyway, I remember reading a post on this very comm just a few days ago that the Paire community hasn't been as active as of recently and I got around to thinking, "These prompts are great. Just think of all the different directions Paire writers could go with them!"

What do you guys think about messaging the maintainers of that community asking for permission to use their prompts in order to rekindle the love for Paire?

It wouldn't have to be something big and organized with certain people making claims on a prompt table like that comm, but rather a laid-back "write when a prompt inspires you to write" kind of thing. As a frequenter of the pairechallenge community I know for a fact that one prompt can bring about all different perspectives and ideas based on the individual's take on it. :)

Mods: I tagged this with prompts and discussion since it's an idea about possible prompts. If you feel that either of them don't belong feel free to remove them. :)
