3x16 The Road Warrior aka the one where they finally stop trying to date…I think.

Starting the last ten of the season so it’s time to start building up the season final arcs and close out all the others.

And give Luke another mention.

Previous Part

Lots of plots again which is great, it’s also a clear sign the end of the season is near.

The largest plot line centers, as always, on Ryan.

He’s helping Johnny’s cousin deal with problems

From fixing up the house to

Hunting down Johnny’s dead beat dad, who use to be a Space Marine.

And really Ryan had been getting so much better about getting into fights but well he gets into on trying to keep Johnny’s cousin safe. But he does find out he has even more in common with Johnny, Johnny really was a Ryan clone. Anyways he helps and all is better for Johnny’s family now.

The next longest plot is Summer, Seth and Taylor finding out about Julei and Neil

Mostly because Taylor see them having dinner and talking

And tells Seth and Summer who just have to see for themselves

And Summer doesn’t do stealth well at all

But they see Julie and Neil so it worked, but they really seem happy so Summer backs off.

And they are the only couple doing well

The other adults all have dinner together to get help building the hospital and it looks like it’s going to work but it cost Matt his girlfriend that he really liked, because of Sandy.

And Kirsten calls Sandy on his slipping morals, he’s becoming an end’s justify the means man and that just isn’t him and she knows it.

Now this last events is likely the biggest even if it did have the least screen time but it’s something that’s been building.

Ryan and

Marissa talk, and realize they’ve been pulling apart and it’s just not worth it. They just end it. After the last two and a half years, the fights and rescues, the guns and other girlfriends, the baby and everything else couldn’t get these two to stay apart but now it seems time, and growing up, had does it…or they could get back together in the next episode. With these two who knows.

Now some more about Ryan. He tells Johnny’s cousin that the Cohen’s are his guardians not his parents. This tells me two things. One it clearly states that they didn’t adopt Ryan something the show had been back and forth about back in season one and part of two but never had a consistent answered about. Two, Ryan seems them as his guardians not his parents. He doesn’t say they aren’t his real parents, birth parents, or any of the other ways you can say someone isn’t your parent but at the same time they are. Ryan doesn’t do that. He may see them as Family and at this point I think he does, but he still draws a line between them and him and I think Trey is to blame for that. Before Trey Ryan seemed set to really see himself as a Cohen but this season he’s been clear that he’s not an Cohen. He even says it straight out to Sandy, he said he’s not an Atwood anymore but he’s still not a Cohen. And to Ryan I think that line’s a very big deal.
