Band of Brothers: Winter/Nixon: Slash Drabbles

Title: Skin
Word Count: 82
Challenge: 98 Tear
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters and Nixon

Like a little speckle of crystal in the sun light dripping from the firm tan surface to hang, suspended in the air for a moment refracting the light in every direction before they struck the window pane like surface. A surface that suddenly jumped five times the height of the drop before crashing down, ripping outward. Ring after ring broke on the firm tan pillar coming out water, every muscle outlined by the water as it rose

“Nix, Nix you there?”

“Huh?”

Title: Undercover
Word Count: 112
Challenge: 102 Desk
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Winters, Harry, Nixon

Winters looked a little uncomfortable which Harry knew he always did behind his desk, “Have you finished up those reports for sink yet?”

Harry watched as Winters started to clear his throat, “I finished it earlier today. Sink should have it by now.”

Harry watched as Winters fidgeted for a bit, “I’m heading to get some chow, you?”

“No I’m fine,” Harry just looked at Winters for a moment before heading out.

***

“Is he gone?” Nixon asked as he got out from under Dick’s desk.

“Nix that was one of the worst ideas you’ve ever had.”

“Come on Dick, Harry never knew and it was fun,” Nixon said with a grin.

Title: Sunlight
Word Count: 144
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

A beautiful sight, one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

The new dawn light was slowly creeping across the valley when I found you in our room; face down on the bed deep asleep. So asleep you didn’t move when I took the bottle from your hand or pulled off you jump boots, you barely even make a sound.

I lay by you propping up my head to see the sun over your shoulder. The sunbeams shone through the window and onto us. Without waking you turned from the light and snuggled deeply into what you thought was a pillow.

Then I see it. As I run my fingers through your hair the sun’s golden glow lightened your dark locks. They’re not as dark as mine. It makes your whole face brighten; more open, more warm, more beautiful…or maybe it was your smile.

Title: Gun
Word Count: 102/133
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: PG-13
Author's Notes: I’ve go two of them, the first part is the same but the endings are different. Hope you don’t mind.

#1

That’d be it, it’s time. You think as you look at the weapon in your hand, you’ve cleaned it just for this and it wasn’t even yours. It was his. It had never been fired but for this it needed to be cleaned you think as you raised it up.

A sudden movement stopped you. He was no longer asleep before the fire. He was standing, his form covered in shadows…but still light.

“Nix” he whispered as one hand pushed your gun down as he ran his fingers through your hair before pulling you into him.

The gun slipped from your fingers.

#2

That’d be it, it’s time. You think as you look at the weapon in your hand, you’ve cleaned it just for this and it wasn’t even yours. It was his. It had never been fired but for this it needed to be cleaned you think as you raised it up.

A sudden movement stopped you. He shifted in his sleep. He looks so peaceful. The book he was reading no longer in his fingers but laying on the floor still open. The soft glow of the dying firelight on his face. His hair seemed all the more vibrant. You reach out and slowly run your fingers through his locks. Still sleep he turns into you hand and smiles.

You slid down next to him as the gun drops from your hand.

Title: Moonlight
Word Count: 73
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G

He almost glows; his pale skin is like a second moon. He’s sleeping sprawled out across our bed reflecting light around the room. I came so close to losing him once. A bullet went straight for him, right at his head. It even went through his helmet…but it didn’t hurt him. Scared him, scared us both, but didn’t hurt him.

You can’t see the mark now; it’s covered by the glow of moonlight.

Title: Nixon, Holland
Word Count: 70
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birth day Lew, happy birthday to you”

“Shhhh, do you want the Germans to hear. That kind of gift I can do with out.”

“Happy birthday”

“Ah, well I knew you were the sentimental type. You’ve got a good vice there.”

“Thanks, do you want your gift now?”

“Dam Dick, what the hell did you find to get me…?”

“This”

“…”

Title: The Major’s Dance
Word Count: 146
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G

“I don’t dance Lew.”

“Come on Dick it’s the anniversary of D-Day, live a little.”

“You can live without dancing so I choose not to.”

“In the two years I’ve know you I don’t think you’re danced once.”

“…I’m not even going to respond to that Nix.”

“I’m beginning to think you’re never danced at all.”

“…”

“Christ Dick not even once, look at all these women. They’d love to dance with you, you could get any one, or more than-”

“That’s more than enough Lew, I don’t dance, and you dance enough for the both of us.”

“No I don’t.”

“Last night it was Anne, before that Sue, and someone else I-”

“Ok, Ok. You think I dance too much.”

“You do Lew.”

“…I have a plan that will make us both happy, you’ll dance and I won’t dance around.”

“Lew.”

“Dance with me Dick.”

Title: From Home
Word Count: 80
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G
Author's Notes: short but here it is.

“No Soble, mail but no work, this is the life.”

“Who’s your package from Lew?”

“Mother, she seems to think I only wear underwear once and then lose them.”

“I thought you said she didn’t know you?”

“Hahaha, I never leave clothing behind Dick, who’s your letter from?”

“My mother as well.”

“Oh and how is the family?”

“They’re fine Nix. They say hello by the way.”

“Give them my regards, do you want a pair of slippers, they’re fur-lined.”

Title: Easy
Word Count: 90
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: g

I can do this, I’ve done it before, I can do it now.

“It’ll be great Dick. Some real food, not Army food but real home cooked food.”

It will be fine. We eat in front of the men every day, just two friends eating together. Just “friends”.

“Are you going to play with that tie all night, gee Dick let me do that.”

I can do this. I can, if I can face Sobel this will be simple.

“Take it easy it’s only my wife not Eisenhower.”

Yeah, easy.

Title: Ring
Word Count: 140
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G
Author's Notes: This one is a follow up on dearkiki Heirloom drabble. Yes a drabble as a sequel.

“And how am I supposed to get any sleep with you on my bed Lew?” Dick asked as he entered the room he had clamed.

“It’s a big bed”

“Yes it is,” he observed as Lew slid over to one side, still staring up at his fist and the ceiling.

At first the other man didn’t move as Winters lay down next to him, but then Nix turned to the red head and watched for a moment before reaching out his hand to feel Dick’s hair. At first Dick leaned into it, and then suddenly he bolted up away from Nix’s hand. “This can’t happen Nix.”

“Why not?”

“You know why,” Dick said looked at the man below him.

“She divorced me, it wouldn’t be an affair. She even gave me back the ring; it’s yours if you’ll have it”

Title: Homes
Word Count: 105
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G
Authors Notes: I like Nix in moonlight, sunlight, all light.

The lace was snow white with delicate swirls accenting soft blue curtains. The sofa, couch, and matching rug were magnificent…or that’s what Nix told him, it looked just like home he said. It looked nothing like his old home.
Home made rugs from what ever scraps his aunt had laying around, solid plain wood furniture, faded cream drapes

Their homes were so different, they are so different so why-

“Dick, I’m the night owl and even I’m in bed”

Winters let the lace ruffles slip through his fingers as he looked all at Nix bathed in moonlight. Could they be more different?

Why are they-

Title: The right one
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

Author's Notes: I almost forgot to do this one.

The leaves are falling, one by one. Gold, red, yellow, and brown, its fall his favorite time of year, he loves the trees, the fall. He’s looking for a specific tree, he knows there’s one close by he’s seen the leaves, he has to find it. He has to know where it is by tonight.

There it is, an Oak hundreds of years old by the size just like the one I offered Cathy a ring under. I should have known it was a mistake then. All I offered was a ring; this time I’m him offering my heart too.

Title: Rose
Word Count: 81
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G
Author's Notes: a little short.

“Nice flower there Dick, rose?”

“Yes, it was outside my door this morning.”

“Now how could that have gotten there? And in winter, that couldn’t have been easy.”

“And it fresh, too”

“Fresh rose in the middle of February; you have a secret admirer there Dick.”

“No I don’t, I know who it is Nix, they weren’t very stealthy when they left it.”

“Oh really?”

“Yes, I’ve manage to scrounge a decent meal today, would you like to join me?”

“Sure.”

Title: Content
Word Count: only 92
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G
Author's Notes:

The grass was rippling like waves under the lazy breeze. As the slowly swaying leaves caused shapes of shadow and light to play and dance on the emerald grass and Dick.

Winters stretching out on the grass, unfinished letters flapping under his coat. Head resting on his lap, eyes closed resting…at peace. A light colored hand slowly fingering the ginger locks.

An unopened flask of Vat 69 just out of reach, lying in the grass.

Nixon saw all this and smiled resting against the tree; his other hand running through the grass.

Title: Beside Me
Challenge: 36 Home
Word Count: 113
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: PG

Nix brushed the strand of red from Winters face slowly, pausing as Dick stirred in his sleep before pushing himself deeper into Nix’s side. Nix knew he had to leave, he’d stayed too long as it was. The sun had crested over the mountains over an hour ago and even his Vat dampened senses could tell that others were up and about, that the mansion they occupied was waking. He knew that he couldn’t be found here. It wasn’t Easy Company outside those door, they wouldn’t just expect that where you found Winters you found Nixon, and with Nix, Winters. They’d wonder, they’d question.

But looking at Winters’ face he just couldn’t leave.

Title: At First Sight
Challenge: 37 Fast
Word Count: 82
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Rating: G

It happened at first sight, the first time I saw him. I’d never really felt much for anyone who wasn’t blood related but that day at officer training I knew what they were taking about. I’d read about it, seen the movies and been told stories, but till you feel it your self you don’t, you can’t understand it. I don’t know if he felt it that day, I never asked. But I felt like I’d found the other half of myself.

Title: What Mattered
Challenge: Relief
Word Count: 100
Characters/Pairings: Winters, Nixon
Rating: G

The helmet had a hole in it. I could see my hand through it. See the soft pink flesh, vulnerable, exposed. Like his head had been. I looked over at Nix asleep on my bed or passed out really. Once we got to town he’d drunk every thing he could find as fast as he could find it. And he was skilled at finding liquor. Normally that annoyed me but not tonight. Tonight he could drink all the bozo in Europe because it meant he was alive to drink it and that was what mattered. That was all that counted.

Title: Lake
Challenge: Skin
Word Count: 101
Characters/Pairings: Winters, Nixon
Rating: G
Author's Notes: Hope you like.

He doesn’t skinny. No mater how many times Nix asks him he always says no. He’s not even that fond of swimming, he never liked it in school. It was one of the few sports he didn’t participate in. He just never liked it. He just couldn’t say no to the lake. He liked it now, it was him time. The men knew not to bother him here and Sink was never up this early so he had it all to him self. But not today, today Nix was here. And he wondered, if he said yes what would Nix do?

Title: Happy Birthday Nix
Word Count: 126
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters and Nixon
Author's Notes: I hope you like it and Happy Birthday again.

“Happy Birthday Nix”

“Thanks Dick…how’d you know it was my Birthday?”

“You’ve gotten cards that say Happy Birthday on them from four banks and three hotels. Did you tell them you joined the army?”

“Na, I’m just rich enough they find out, marketing.”

“Well are you going to open it?”

“Sure, so what is it?”

“A box.”

“Ha good one Dick. Christ Dick where did you find all this string. And how did you think I was going to open it?”

“It’s twine, and if you had pulled on the end and not from the middle it would have pulled right off.”

“Hell, just give me that bayonet. Don’t give me that look you’re not saving this twine…it’s a dog collar?”

“For your dog.”

“It’s leather.”

Title: Need
Word Count: 70
Challenge: 46 weak
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters, Nixon

Nix had a weakness for booze; if it was distilled, he drank it. He did it to forget. To forget the war and its death. To forget his life back home, crumbling down around him. He pulled back from everything till his Vat was all he had left in his life. Except for me. I wouldn’t let him push me away. He was all I had, he was my weakness.

Title: Dick
Word Count: 102
Challenge: 47 Women
Rating: NC-17 WARNING NC-17
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

Dick wasn’t like any one he’d been with. He wasn’t a woman so he took his time exploring every inch of Dick’s form. He licked his way across his strong solid pecs; nipping at his brown nipples before slowly making his way down Dick’s stomach. Tonguing every curve he could find as he ran his hands down Dick’s back. Feeling muscles relax under his fingers. As he left Dick’s abs he heard Dick hiss as he ran his tongue over Dick’s dick as lightly as he could. He grinned as he looked up at Dick’s glazed eyes shinning in the moon light.

Title: More

“It’s not your fault, it was being replaced next week,” Nixon told Winters as he lay beside him.

“I should have done something; he’s going to lose his leg.” Winters whispered as he stared out the window.

“Dick, you did do something, you’re the reason he only lost a leg. You saved his life.” Nixon reached over and pulled his friend into a hug, “You saved his life.”

“It’s my fault I should have done something more, he’ll never be able to work. He has a wife and kids Lew, I should have done more.”

“I’ll take care of it, it’ll be fine Dick.”

Title: Be my Hero
Word Count: 93
Challenge: 50 Hero
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Nixon and Winters

You’ll always be my hero. You’ve lead men into combat from the front; you never let the men see your pain or despair. You never show your fear. You always put your men first even when they’ve stopped being your men, you never forget about them. And for that, you will always be my hero.

And that’s why I fear for you. I fear that some day you’ll become a hero in the fullest sense of the word. I fear the day you won’t return to me. The day you die a hero.

Title: Need
Word Count: 101
Challenge: Sickness 55
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

He had a cold. Dick had a cold. He could dodge bullets. He could overrun a pair of SS companies with only a single platoon but a simple and small bug got him. He was barely able to stand. Barely able to do anything, not that he let it stop him of course. He still walked the line and talked to the men but it was taxing him. It just wasn’t right. Dick was better than that, he was a hero, and he was a leader. This company wouldn’t have made it this far without him. They needed him…he needed him.

Title: How
Word Count: 100
Challenge: Paper 57
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

How did Nix do it all day? Nix worked with maps, forms and reports all day and didn’t seem to mind, he even liked it. But it hadn’t even been half a day and only one report and he was going mad already. How did he deal with it all? At least Nix didn’t have to deal with the Aid. The kid was a good kid but he was always there. No matter the time or place the kid was just there. If he didn’t get some time alone with Nix soon he was really going to do mad, he was.

Title: Warm Day
Word Count: 107
Challenge: Daydream 53
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

Dick was laying there under the trees just out of the sun. His red hair was dark, the color of strawberry jam as he laid in the shade. His uniform was half off as he looked over at Nixon. He was slowly running his hand through the darker hair of his companion.

“Don’t we have somewhere to be?”

“No Nix, I can’t think of anything we need to do,” Dick pulled Nix closer to him till they were pressed against each other. “There’s no where I’d rather be.”

“To bad it’s not real.”

Dick opened his eyes and looked out at his snow covered fox hole, alone.

Title: For the One True Nix
Word Count: 104
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

The sun was slowly coming up over the mountains and filling the whole valley with its light. Dick lightly ran his hand through Nix’s dark locks one last time before the light reached his friends. The first thing Nix did when the light fell upon him was turn his head into Dick’s thigh trying to block out the sun. Dick chuckled was he ran his hand through Nix’s now illuminated hair. His hair was different in the light, it even felt different and he didn’t know why. But he loved them both, he loved everything about Nix and he always would not matter what.

Title: Dog Tags
Word Count: 101
Challenge: for be_a_reble
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

He is playing with his dog tags again. He could just let them lay around his neck like every one else, but he doesn’t. He has to slowly move them back and forth so that I can see the light dancing over it as the chain moves. And that’s all I can see, I can’t focus on the officer or what he’s showing, all I can see is that chain and think of what the tags are doing, slowly swaying back and forth in his hand as he fondles them. How can I do a bayonet charge with him doing that?

Title: Asleep
Word Count: 75
Challenge: Alcohol 61
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

Winters slowly pulled the Vat bottle from Nixon’s hand and set it down on the dresser before he looked back over at Nixon. The other man was slumped down in an overstuffed chair with one hand dangling over the side as the other was dapped over his lap that had only moments before had been holding his bottle. Winters brushed his hand over Nixon’s hair lightly as he kneeled down before his friend, “Oh Nix”

Title: Need
Word Count: 101
Challenge: 61 Alcohol
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters and Nixon

He didn’t need it any more, he’d never give it up, not all the way, but he didn’t need it. Not like he used to. He used to need it just to make it through the day but not now. Now he, now that he had Dick waiting for him, standing by his side. He knows Dick will always be there for him. So he has to be there for Dick, and to do that he needed to be able to help Dick.

Nix has changed, he drinks less. He spends a lot of his time with me. He’s doing better.

Title: Every Night
Word Count: 101
Challenge: 62 Stocking
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

Nix was only wearing stockings. That was it, nothing other than stockings. This was the time of night he always feared. Feared that Nix would see him looking as he changed. Feared that his reaction would show and Nix would know how he felt. If that happened he’d lose Nix forever. He didn’t know if he could bear that, losing Nix would be the hardest thing that could ever happen to him. But every night when Nix came stumbling in he didn’t care, for just a moment he’d almost risk everything to touch those stockings or maybe that skin, just once.

Title: Coffee
Word Count: 108
Challenge: 96 Ice
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

“Watch it, that coffee looks hot.”

“It is Nix, that’s why I haven’t drunk it yet. It needs to cool down.”

“There’s nothing wrong with hot coffee. Hot coffee can be very good even.”

“The problem is hot coffee can burn if you’re not careful. That’s why you use ice.”

“You know how to be careful Dick, not one does it better then you. It could be fun.”

“It could be Nix. But it could cost maybe more than I’m willing to pay.”

“I’ll pay what ever the cost.”

“Money isn’t everything, and you can’t buy this.”

“We aren’t talking about coffee are we?”

“Were we ever Nix?”

Title: Photo
Word Count: 100
Challenge: 96 Broken
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

He’d dropped it. He hadn’t even remember picking it up but he must have for him to have dropped it. The glass was webbed with cracks starching from the center all the way out to the edges of the picture frame. The photo of Nixon and himself was hard to see through all the cracks in the glass. He could only just make out the jeep behind them and he couldn’t see Nixon’s smile any more. He’d have to replace the glass again. He didn’t like not being able to see the picture, not being able to see Nix’s grin.

Title: Drift
Word Count: 82
Challenge: 73 Net
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

He was drifting along in the waters of their lake. He could feel the water flowing under him slowly taking him with it. He could see why Dick liked it. It was nice letting go and trusting the water. It was relaxing. And if something happened he knew Dick was there, swimming along side him. His own personal safety net, keeping him from harm. As long has he was with Dick he was safe. Church bells and helmets weren’t but he was.

Title: They couldn’t
Word Count: 85
Challenge: 78 retreat
Rating: PG13
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

They couldn’t keep doing this. It was only a matter of time before someone found out. Before someone found out what they were, and what they were doing. How many kisses could they sneak in backrooms and dark alleys before one of the men walked in on them? How many nights could they share before someone found them with the dawn? Before the men found out and lost all respect for Dick. He couldn’t let that happen. They had to stop for Dicks own good.

Title: Never Around
Word Count: 93
Challenge: 79 replacement
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon and Nixon/Speirs

Nix was never around anymore. Dick didn’t understand why but Nix had pulled back. Nix spent all his time with Speirs now, even bunking with Easy Company and not battalion HQ. Things had been good between them, very good. Why did Nix stop? Did he have a change of heart? Did Nix not want to spend him time with someone like himself? Was he to inexperienced for Nix was that it? Was it something else? What was it and why did he feel like Speirs had replaced him in more ways then one.

Title: The real thing
Word Count: 81
Challenge: 82 Imitation
Rating: PG
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon

You can’t fake this feeling. You can fake a lot of things. Booze can help you fake a lot of feeling. Make you happy when your not. It can make you just not feel. But it can’t fake this. This feeling I get just laying across the green fields resting on Dick’s lap. The feeling of his hands in my hair as he talks. No this feeling, this contentment can’t be copied. There is nothing else like it in the world.

Title: Breakfast
Word Count: 103

“Being a major must have its perks there Dick,” Nixon said sitting next to Winters.

“Yes Lew it does. Biscuit?” Winters asked holding on out for the other man, “they’re even fresh.”

“Fresh biscuits. How could I say no? Is the butter fresh too?”

“Yes, its goat’s butter, it’s good with the local honey,” Winters added pushing a glass jar over to Nixon.

“Goat’s butter huh?” Nixon said spreading the butter and honey on his biscuit, “Where’s Harry?”

“He’s still sleeping off last night I think.”

“He’ll be joining us later then?”

“No, just the two of us Lew.”

“Ah, it’s good honey.”

Title: Perfect
Word Count: 100
Challenge: 91 Perfect

Characters/Pairings: Nixon/Winters

It was late afternoon with the sun shining down on them as they talked on the balcony. Nixon turned to look at the reflecting sunlight off the lake below them. The golden glow filled the valley, giving the grass a rich green color. He could hear the wind rushing in the leaves above him. He could smell and taste the wine in the glass in his hand. He swirled the dark liquid in the as he raised his hand bushing against Winters’ hand. He could feel the warmth of Winters hand under his own fingers. And that moment was perfect.

“That’s good work.”

“Is that the jump?”

“I can’t tell you that Dick, whether I know or not and you know it.”

“Then don’t tell me, just tell me what the men need to know, what should they work on Nix?”

“I can’t help you with that Dick, but what I can tell you is to make sure all the men know a few lines of basic French. And I have a couple extra maps of northern France if you want Dick.”

“Thanks Lew.”

Title: Plus 799
Word Count: 100
Challenge: rhosyn_seren’s birthday
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Winters/Nixon
Notes: The idea came from your icon by the way

The first rays of light from the sun were warming the harbor beneath them. Its golden glow was covering everything. But one of the best sights was the Statue of Liberty illuminated by in the sunlight. It looked like it was not made of copper and bronze, but of gold, of hope. Of all the things that could now be. It was one of the most beautiful things he’d ever seen.

Then Nix slid his hands across the railing interweaving his fingers with Dick’s fingers before looking at his lover and saw an even better one. “Happy second anniversary Dick.”

Title: Never Before

“I’ve never done anything like this Lew.”

“It’s not that different than sleeping with a woman Dick, I just have a few muscles that they don’t, that’s all.”

“…”

“…by never done anything like this do you mean with a guy or…at all?”

“Lew…”

“Never…not once…your 26 for chrissakes”

“…I never met the right woman.”

“Woman…I’m not one”

“Yes, before this war I never dreamed that I would feel this way about…not a woman.”

“So this was going to be your first…not just with…not a woman but first time ever?”

“Yes Lew, it is.”

“Do you at least jerk off?”
