So today’s episode is brought to you by the Spanish language and the idea of hidden relationship.
Previous Part So we have three main plots I want to look at this week, want to guess who they center on? That’s right the boys
Let’s start with Ryan as always.
It starts with him wanting to do the smart if not easy thing, as he tells Seth
He just wants to be friends with Marissa again, at which point Seth, and everyone else points out that Ryan and Marissa have never been friends. They went from strangers to trying to become boy/girl-friends in the space of time it took to light a cigarette with another cigarette. But he wants to try and so does she
And they do try but their feeling don’t really fall in line. This whole situation isn’t helped by an old friend of Ryan’s returning, Theresa
She’s taking some time off to work and earn some money so she’s in Newport, or that’s what she claims, she’s really hiding from Eddie who’s really a vampire named Jesse
Who proposed to her and she just need some space to think. Well coming to Newport may have given Theresa space but not so much to Ryan
As he’s trying to be friends to both of them but really, his ex and his old ex, the friend thing isn’t going very well at all. And it’s made even more complicated when Eddie comes to see Ryan
Trying to find Theresa, does Eddie know his girlfriend or what? They talk, then Theresa and Ryan talk then Marissa and Theresa and then Theresa plans on going back to Eddie but then Ryan talks to Theresa one last time
And her moving plans just got put on hold a bit.
That part I don’t get is why now, Ryan’s had the chance before but he turned Theresa down then but not this time, he goes after her this time and it’s just odd to me but whatever.
Moving on to Seth and Summer
The thing about them is they’re together, having sex and all, but Summer won’t even talk to Seth in public if she can get around it
But she’ll talk to the Waterpolo team, even willing to work a kissing booth for them
Seth is fine with this at first, he is getting sex after all, but with the help of Anna he gets tired of it and pushes Summer for an open relationship, and I don’t mean the other people open. Summer said no so Seth goes on strike, no sex for Summer and I like that it’s Summer that keeps trying to get sex and not Seth. I like that. But then Seth finds out that Summer is just scared that Seth will dump her and she doesn’t want her inevitable broken heart to be public so Seth mans up and tells everyone publicly that he likes Summer, I love that he said like and not love, they’re both to young to be saying love. Summer sees that he’s not going to get bored and kisses him in public
And they are happy for the moment anyways.
Last we come to Luke
Luke is still seeing Julie, and why seeing I mean sex and really mostly sex but they do talk a bit. They even talk when she goes to the school to talk to a teacher about Marissa. But she isn’t alone she had Jimmy with her and that’s a bit off putting to Luke
His lover has a ex-husband, not that’s easy when everyone’s an adult it’s no wonder Luke freaked a bit but he gets over it enough to take a Booty call from Julie later
This was after she turned down a booty call from Caleb
But really can you blame Julie for wanting Luke
He is hot, but that fact he has to leave to get to home room freaks Julie out a bit but not enough to stop I think.
We do learn something at this point, Luke is 18, so he’s graduating this year but they don’t talk about what schools he’s going to or anything but anyways I just find it odd that once more without even knowing it I crush on the senior in a show about underclassmen, yes I’m thinking about Whitney. For some reason I always thought Luke was the same age as the rest of the teen’s but he’s 2ish years older…why is he in the same classes? Some how I don’t think this was thought through why the writers.
