College rules!!!

So I now live in Chicago, right downtown. It's incredible, the view that I have: I'm looking out over the city to the north and I can just see the southern tip of Lake Michigan on a clear day. But of course, the view is only awesome because I live on the 41st floor of this place. How lucky did I get?!

Anyway, I've loved finding a new possé here and walking around the city with them. We now know where Target and Radioshack are, which is very good, of course. We've also been going to each others apartments and making each other meals, which helps keeps things cheap (thank the gods). Friday, we went to the House of Blues for dinner, yum, and then Saturday, i got to go to the Coheed and Cambria show with MeWithOutYou, Dredg, and the Blood Brothers. All were most excellent, although I didn't really get to see MeWithoutYou since I walked in near the end of their set. I LOVE COHEED AND CAMBRIA SO FREAKING HARD, OH MY GOODNESS, YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!! There, I think I'm good. Their set rocked so friggin hard, they played both of my favorite songs and I nearly came in my pants I was so happy (yes, that's the only metaphor good enough to explain my elation).

Classes started yesterday, and I can't wait to get down and dirty in my art classes since both sound like they'll be really fun and will teach me a lot about basics and help in refresher stuff. Computer Literacy is retarded considering i was bored out of mind the first day as the Nigerian teacher explained how Microsoft Word works. History of Western ArtII kicks arse though, so it makes up for Comp.Lit., as it starts just before the French Revolution (Yay for the Marquis de Sade and his Rococo-like perversions!) and goes up until stuff that was done just last year. I feel kinda smart thanks to Botzki and her Ism papers. Seeing as how Art and Theater are so closely related, I already have a good idea about the concepts and theories behind half of the topics on the syllabus.

Now, I need to go and work on an essay comparing to Genre Painters and then work on my first set of thumbnails for college! I wonder how long I'm going to be excited about homework...
