Flynn? Halloooooo? Flynn Rider? Anyone?

I seem to be.....I seem to be tangled up, over here? This is SO embarrassing...

[Rapunzel has landed in the woods not far to the northeast of House 46. Unfortunately, 70 feet of shimmering golden hair is looped and knotted and snarled every which way in nearby trees and bushes. Her journal is lying not far ( Read more... )

landing, this is a long-haired-people problem, tangled

[And from the picture in the journal window, she looks it.]

I can come to help if you need someone. [She promises not to bring scissors. And she's patient... this is going to need it.]

Can you tell me where you are exactly?

[Such... pretty... hair. Like a fairy tale.]

[WHERE is that voice coming from? A startled Rapunzel wheels around, searching for its source.]

Who---who's there? Who said that?!

[Luckily, she's had experience with newcomers.]

It's alright. I'm speaking to you through the journal. The book that should be near you. [Judging from the angle...] Look to your [proper direction goes here?]

Journal? Like a diary? I kept a diary once, but I think Mother was reading it so I....

Oh. I see it. But I can't----it's too far away to reach!

[Voice towards action? Possibly?] no_use_running July 7 2011, 01:52:26 UTC
That's alright. We can talk like this for now. You're in the woods, right? I'll head that way. Tell me more while I come.

Tell you more? Um, okay. My name's Rapunzel. Tomorrow's my birthday. Uhhhhhh I really like painting?

[But wait---can she trust this girl?] Maybe you should tell me some things about you? Heh.

[Voice still for now XD] no_use_running July 7 2011, 02:05:45 UTC
Ah- I mean, where you are. What can you see? What's nearby?

[Not that she won't answer the question, too.]

My father is a painter. He paints Japanese watercolors. [A point to relate on already! - albeit indirectly.] I'm Ami Mizuno, and it's nice to meet you.

[... Wait. Did she say... Rapunzel?

Can't be that one. Except the hair...

No way.]

Ah... when you say "Rapunzel"... [But how to ask this?] Is it alright if I ask where you're from?

I'm from Corona, but----okay, I'm from the outskirts of Corona. [The kingdom, not the refreshingly light lemony Mexican beer.]

Ami Mizuno. That's a strange name.

[voice it is!] also tell me how much to/not to fourth-wall cause. yeah. XD no_use_running July 7 2011, 02:14:22 UTC
[Walking walking walking. And thinking thinking thinking.

It can't be. But neither can a lot of things that have happened in her life. 'Corona' doesn't ring a bell, but most fairy tales stay vague anyway: somewhere in a far-away land.]

It's Japanese. I'm from Japan. The city of Tokyo.

I've never heard of that place. It must be somewhere far away from Corona. The beach where Mother collects the special shells is a few days' walk. We don't live close to much of anything.

[After awhile more smalltalk, Ami arrives in sight, at a brisk walk. This... is going to take awhile as she comes to a dead stop with the full extent of the tangling in front of her in full size.]

It... might be easier to cut it...

[She suggests this very tentatively, because the Rapunzel or not, a girl's hair is important.]

NO! Hi! I'm Rapunzel! [She is speaking very quickly, now.] AND NO CUTTING, PLEASE. Please. I'm trying to wind it. Can you braid? Braiding might work.

I can braid, but, we have to get it untangled from the trees first.

[And that meant a way to climb up there. ]

It's...so high up. I could climb it but I'm---the hair is knotted down too close to the ground. I'm a good climber, normally.

Here, I'll help you untangle the hair down here.

[As good as her word, Ami patiently tugs at the hair - gently, and bracing it against her grip to avoid it tugging on Rapunzel too painfully.]

Um... You know... there's a famous story about a girl called Rapunzel where I'm from. She had very long hair, too.

[That's...strange. Another Rapunzel with long hair?]

What happened to her?
