The snow here is pretty much gone and the outside thermometer is reading near 50 when I get up in the morning, so welcome spring! Our irises have broken through the ground and I'm really looking forward to them blooming so that I can post a photo.
We went to Blackduck last weekend to spend Easter with Darry's mom. It went really well. We got there on Friday evening. Saturday morning Darry and his mom went through a bunch of stuff that she wanted him to take home with us. We made a trip into Bemidji on Saturday afternoon and picked up a few things. Sunday morning we went to church and then had a nice ham dinner around 1:00. Chris (one of Darry's sons from his first marriage) and his wife, Tammy, stopped in to visit after dinner. (They were invited for dinner, but were going to his mom's place.) We played some Mexican Train in the afternoon, had some leftovers and watched TV in the evening. Getting home was kind of an adventure because we went just so far on Highway 200 and it was closed up ahead due to flooding. So we took what we thought was Highway 52, but turned out to be some county road. Thank goodness a local guy stopped and directed us to Highway 36 which comes out just south of Wilton (about 13 miles south of here). We got home late Monday night.
Since we got home I've been putting away Easter decorations and returning my regular decorations to their original places. From Christmas through Easter I have lots of seasonal decorations I put out that displace all my framed photos and the wildlife statue collection and send my pottery collection to the top of the entertainment center. But they're all back where they belong now.
