dbsk_flashfic 's flashfic challenge 24: half a conversation. original post is

fear doesn’t taste bitter. it’s numbing salve; the laughing gas in the dentist’s office getting a little out of hand. it makes you take on the blood-rush, fallen heights; you look out the window of the skyscraper when he walks up to you and you wonder how the pavement tastes.
junsu doesn’t say anything more than a “hello.”
(this is half the conversation:
him telling you
when we get caught--
and you saying. -i will live tonight.)
you fight with him in the last car of the bullet train. fastest train in the world, you’ve been told, the words translated into korean after your japanese went sketchy. he spits out eager-angry fake words and you reply with enough bravado to keep your secrets safe. “jaejoong,” he’s saying.
everything after your name goes crashing down.
so you don’t tell him anything sweet or anything too promising but sometimes the two of you sing in the shower and that’s more than enough. it’s the one time the notes don’t become a battle of skills and a pinprick of discomfort when junsu sounds so goddamn beautiful and you’re hitting the high note a little too flat. and, oh, this is where the melody starts.
(--caught on blond skylights.
yoochun: --hey, that sounds like poetry.)
fame runs hot-red and a little bloody. it takes casualties on the spot and rips out hearts and sometimes eats them whole. there’s a whispered spotlight and you turn around and you spit out.
eat your heart out.
it ends on the skyscraper and the bullet train and the recording studio and the stage.
it starts here:
(--one beautiful try.)
