✸ Ruby is canon up until the point of her death in the show, she did not die at the end of season four, but was instead sent to hell where she remained for the entirety of the fifth season (which is all canon), much to her chagrin. This means Ruby is taken from between seasons five and six; her time in hell was agony (even for her) considering the amount of demons she had to pave over to make sure her plans for Lucifer were successful. In the end her plans served the greater good (that being Lucifer), but not every demon was going to sit back and accept THAT explanation... actually only Lilith would, but she's dead. It seems Lucifer didn't care enough to stop the torture in hell, but hey, Ruby doesn't hold it against him--torture only makes a person stronger anyway. She has also taken over the original host from season three (played by Katie Cassidy). Finally, this demon has it in for the Winchester's considering her time spent manipulating--Sam mostly--were wasted once Lucifer was defeated. Needless to say, she's developed something of a grudge against Sam and Dean..... not to mention they have her knife.

Croatoan Apocalypse Now (CAN) It's 2014 and that angel trip Dean went on in episode 5.04 (The End) came to pass, and life couldn't be better for Ruby. She's alive, Sam opened his arms (technically body) to Lucifer, and it's the end of days! For a demon like Ruby this is the jackpot of all jackpots, especially considering she praises herself regularly for a job well done, in releasing Lucifer that is. She's an active one, doing her part to spread the Croatoan virus and cause general mayhem among the survivors. It would be a lie if she said she wasn't itching for the chance to sink her claws into Dean and rip his guts out... but bum rushing the older Winchester and his merry men alone would mean certain death. She's not stupid. Samifer is
hailtheboyking ✸ Season three Ruby is also canon, just taken from season three. She still has her larger manipulative plans closest to her heart, it's just that most demons don't know that and neither do Sam and Dean. Most demons think Ruby is a backstabbing, pain in the ass, bitch.. save for Lilith who knows EVERYTHING. And she has her knife--what now bitches.

CANON HISTORY
Ruby rolled into the Winchester's lives after they opened a gate to hell at the end of season two. Surprise surprise, she was apart of an elaborate plan to free Lucifer from his bonds in hell, and had the special task awakening the beast within Sam Winchester. She couldn't do that right away however, she had to gain the boys trust first--well Sam's--which she did. First she tells the young Winchester she can save his brother from the deal that would send him to hell, and then she claims that unlike the rest of her kind, she remembers what it is like to be human, but wishes she did not. It's amazing what playing the humanity card can get a person. And finally, she helps Bobby rebuild the Colt, a weapon VERY deadly to demons. Ruby reveals to Sam that the demon Lilith wants nothing more than to see him burn, claiming he is her competition for the big bad in hell. In the season three finale Ruby 'helps' the brothers battle Lilith, but in the end she just possesses Ruby's host, Dean is sent to hell, and Sam 'scares' the bejesus out of Lilith. All in a good day's work as far as Ruby is concerned.
After Dean was sent to hell (Thank Lilith) Ruby took Sam under her wing and taught him to hone his dormant psychic abilities... and there was demon blood involved... drinking it to be specific. The two of them also struck up an relationship that was physical to say the least, but still very much apart of Ruby's master plan. Sam is shown using his powers to exorcise demons and later to kill them. Once Dean and Bobby find out about the blood they lock Sam up, and surprise surprise (again) Ruby busts him out so they can kill Lilith--Sam remains unaware that killing Lilith is the final seal. It seems as if the more blood he consumes the more powerful he becomes, but after Lucifer is freed, Ruby claims Sam had the abilities within him all along demon blood or not--he was special that way. Up until the very end Ruby was able to deceive Sam, but don't get her wrong, she was and is infatuated with the boy. However, it's more about the powers he has and his importance to Lucifer and not at all about true love or romantic interest. ALAS She was stabbed by Dean while Sam held her still--she couldn't blame him for being pissed, but that didn't make dying any less enjoyable.
Screen name is PAINT IT RUBY... like Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones, not Pain tit Ruby.. if we're being honest though, she is ONE MAJOR PAIN IN THE TIT.
